    HP 500 upgrading WLAN LA-3361P

    hi, i have this old HP 500 notebook but it has no WLAN. I figured i could just solder mini PCI port and insert one of WLAN card. But it wont work

    I have all volatages on PCI slot, and i shorted pins on 0 ohm resistor, inesrt 10K ohm on R73, R293 = nothing.

    Any idea?

      I have a old laptop Lenovo Y470N which is a old model with no UEFI BIOS boot option and the builtin BIOS restricts wlan cards known as white-list WLAN cards. I need to update the CPU microcode and remove the white-list WLAN cards function. Tried to the old fashioned way of hex replacement of vender-ID and device-id method but not very useful, I have to do this all over again after new wlan card and this method turns out freezing the laptop sometime. If possible I also need to enable UEFI boot function. Any help would be appreciated.
      BIOS dump attached below. The BIOS is Insyde legacy BIOS....

      I am contemplating upgrading an old HP Pavilion HP-A550Y from Windows XP to WIndows 10. This machine has a 3 GHz Pentium 4 "Prescott" processor. I have some additional RAM to add. Have plenty of HDD space. I have several questions on how to best proceed at this late (for Windows 10, anyway) date.

      Where is a good place to get a copy of Windows 10 and the activation key? Would I use 32 bit or would I use 64 bit version? Is it possible to do a fresh installation of Windows 10 these days and not an upgrade? If upgrading, is it possible to go from XP to 10 directly and without...

      i just tried to insert the Serial C02RK106FVH6 in the attached Bios.
      I tried to insert and Clean the Region, but it does not work.

      Could anyone insert the Serial into this BIOS? THX a lot....

      Hello,
      on this old laptop toshiba satellite m40 331 i am trying (but failing) to upgrade frow w7 to w10 and allways i have the error : 0xc1900101 - 0c20017. The upgrading process stops with the pc blocked with the logo screen w10 on the display; then there is no activity on the disk hdd or ssd.
      it's also impossible to boot from a dvd iso bootable, the device equally blocks on the w10 logo screen...
      i verified the informations in the device manager and it seems there are no problems...
      i wonder if it's not an issue about the bios (which is very old) or an interface problem...

      Insert OA3 id in bios - Lenovo V15 G4

      Hello. I want to insert OA3 id - product id and license key in bios for model Lenovo V15 G4 IRU. I followed the instructions for OA3 tool and managed to get an OA3.bin file with the license key to write the MSDM table. The next step is to write it with the flash utility matching the bios producer, but I didn't succeed.
      I have attached 2 pictures with no license and with license how it supposed to look like, the dump and the oa3.bin file. I can't seem to find another laptop with windows preinstalled to copy from there.
      Can anyone help, please?
