i used in a mbx-223 , well but if you look to pinout is fully compatible , alltough there LDO current is bit diferent , but on this machine its working and charging perfectly 2 days now running all good
well mbx , 281 , BQ735F a charger ic , problem bttery not detected , tryed with a BQ725A still working , but still dont know if will charge battery or not , but in any case , 735F and 725A pinout is the same
there is a solution , put 2 diodes , frmo pin 1 to 8 and pin 2 to 8 , traces must be turned to pin 8 , after that make a jumper between pin 3 and 6 a,d try to turn on machine

it must be the glass diode , the cathode size goes to pin 8 , so frmo pin 1 to 8 one diode "glass" from pin 2 to 8 another diode "glass " , then with a wire bypass pin 3 to pin 6
(this will WORK ALWAYS if the problem is related with the IC described !!!
perfectly working on some good machines who had this IC damaged fter making this , it was more than enough to fix it .
now therefore , you must chek before making the jumper , after inserting the 2 diodes , insert dc power , and chek pin 3 it cannot be higher than 3.3 volts also chek pin 6 , it must be 3.3 if its not then chek SIO .
then bypass between 3 and 6 !

Thanks Highpulse you have right ITE chip is burned no 3,3v on pin 3-6.
