    Samsung Np-R510 no charge.

    Hello,
    I've got a this Samsung R510,
    I press the power button it comes on but maybe in a minute time it powers off (with the charger and battery plugged in).
    If i leave it by itself with the charger plugged in (to build up a charge) and come back in 15 minutes it powers up no problem ,no random power offs.
    It doesn't charge the battery always 40% as if i plug out the charger the laptop turns off and fails to use the battery as a power source.
    I'm trying to to use this diagram.
    I've trying to follow the Schematics of the R510 on the Power and charge Mangement page this board has an ISL6256ahrz IC controller not the ISL6256AHRZ-T like here
    http://www.scribd.com/doc/135554184/Schematic-Diagram

    Can i get help diagnosing which resistors and Gateways and Pins please.

    I've replaced the DC Port
    I've replaced the Charger
    I've replaced the Battery.

    And i think i might have to replace ISL6256AHrz

      Check chips Q5, U3, U4, D7.

      Then you can measure voltages on those chips.

        EN = 00.2, vdd=0.8 find out why ? it looks like your problem is EC, not giving enable command to charger ic. Dcin is 18.89 is ok. But vdd is also not ok. vref =2.4 ok. btw did you measure this values with battery or without ?

          What do you think ACPRN and DCPRN?

          When AC Adapter is inserted ACSET, DCSET are > 1.26V so ACPRN and DCPRN should be LOW.

            With battery in the values were measured.

                  U3 Gate voltage is 17V, it should not be OPEN if it same type as Q5.

                  Can you measure U3 chip.

                  Is there D522 chip?

                  Can you measure just Battery ON.

                  When AC Adapter is inserted ACPRN and DCPRN should go LOW.

                  This means at AC Adapter not detected, that is reason why not charging.

                  U3 control is also ACPRN so that is reason why Gate 17V.

                  I think ISL6256AHrz is failed.

                    Thanks mate , I've ordered a ISL6256 IC .

                    There is no D522 chip either.

                          No problem, check U3 too it may broken also.

                          Use resistance mode and measure D to S and S to D.

                          It should show high resistance other side and low resistance other way.

                            D->S =OL (very high)
                            S->D =2.716
                            S->D =2.716

                              Hi pocgoc, ACSET, (pin 27) detects the presence of AC Adapter, so you should check the value of R532, R573, and R794. They sets the voltage to detect the AC adapter. (should be > 1.26 volts, when AC Adapter is present)
                              Regards.

                                couldn't find R573 on schematic page.
                                But r532 was constantly rising in Mega ohms (damaged).
                                R533 = 26.5K
                                R794 = 300K

                                  I think you have encountered the component that causes the problem.
                                  If value of R532 is not what schematic says, (300K) then the voltage at pin 27 will be wrong, and AC adaptor won´t be detected.
                                  You should replace it. I have mistaken R573, I wanted to say R533.
