Hello. I am currently working on a Toshiba A305 laptop that has no video. It has also been tested on an external monitor with no video also. It powers on but there are no sounds or signs of post whatsoever. This laptop has Intel graphics. Do you guys think this is another candidate for a reflow. Thanks for your help.

Re: Toshiba A305 No Video
had a Toshiba m305 today similar to what your describing, flipped the wireless switch off and then it decided post then it got weirder it would run off battery with no problems but soon as you plug in ac adapter it would hard lock every time and occasionally restart....
long story short it was the infamous token chip
some info on it here http://www.nec-tokin.com/english/pro.../outline1.html
anyhow i was able to fix it by replacing it with 4 220uf 6.3 volt smd capacitors solved the problem and put in used wireless card from a junk laptop and all was good .
it could be a reflow issue....

Re: Toshiba A305 No Video
Thanks to everyone that responded in this thread. Upon disassembly of the computer there was a small metal piece found that had broken off causing the laptop to not post. The customer initially said it was dropped by a family member so it was off to the races to find out why the laptop was dead. Thank goodness the problem was found without me having to perform a reflow or other circuit work.
