Re: Adapter LED flashing, laptop not switching on

Cheers, I'll order 1 from ebay n see what happens after replacing it, just before I do I tried takin' the resistance readings again to see if I can get anything and now i'm getting something. I have numbered the pads and reuploaded the image so you know what pads im on about (I did remove the components, just reused the image for convenience)

1 - 44.2 for a second then changes to 1.2-1.1 average (then stayes at 1.1)
      2 - anything from 76.4 to 114.8 for a second before just displaying -1
      3 - nothing
      4 - between 38 & 48 for about a second before displaying average 1.2-1.1 (then stayes at 1.1)
      5 - 0.09
      6 - 53 to 93.x before stabelizing on 0.06

It wouldnt give me any readings when touching the chassis with 1 of the multimeter prongs, so I touched 1 of the heatsinks screw cylinders instead which I figured would work, you can see what i mean as you can see it on the picture inbetween the circled capacitor and the cpu plastic holder.

is any of this info useful?

      Thanks

ASUS X54H laptop thinks it's always charging even with charger unplugged
          by flat-earther
The charging indicator light on my ASUS X54H laptop is always on even when the charger is disconnected.

Windows also shows ''Plugged in'' when charger is not connected.

This problem started year ago gradually, when unplugging the charger the charging light took several seconds to disappear, then minutes, and now almost always on even when unplugged for an entire day.
Strangely, before sometimes immediately when plugging in the charger the charging light went away, and later came back with it connected.
If I let battery run out and say it has 3% Windows will...

Strange! Acer laptop not powering on but charging the battery (orange light on when charger and battery plugged in).
          by serious_electron
          Hello Everyone!

I have an Acer Aspire A315-42 laptop. I generally leave it on for long time by closing down its lid (so it enters the sleep mode). Recently, it rained quite heavily in out area. And the humidity and moisture seem to be high. So one late evening, after I opened the lid and turned on the laptop, it did power on as the blue light turned on but after it booted to the desktop screen, just 5-10 seconds after both the screen and blue light went out and laptop shut down (the blue power light turned orange). And after 2-4 seconds that orange light went off and the laptop died.

Desoldering gun station modified to use a 18 volt @ 20 amp switching power supply
          by sam_sam_sam
I have wanting to do this project for quite sometime now and I finally found a switching power supply that will work on this desoldering gun station ZD-915 that the original switching power supply took a shit and just was not worth trying to fix it because this switching power is not quite big enough to handle the heater element and the vacuum pump

One note when I tested the switching power supply and the voltage control board I noticed that this desoldering gun heat up much faster than the original switching power supply which I was really surprised by to the point that I might buy...

Highly Integrated Narrow VDC Battery Charger for Notebook Computers

The ISL6257HRZ ISL6257HRZ-T is a highly integrated battery charger controller

This makes the max voltage to the system equal to the max
battery voltage instead of the max adapter voltage. Operating
