Asus 904HD EEE PC keyboard issue

Bought an Asus EEE 904HD which had a faulty keyboard.

Ordered another keyboard from the internet, which worked fine apart from the p ; / keys. I sent it back for a replacement, and the replacement does exactly the same thing.

I'm seeing on the internet a few posts about board level problems with the keyboard. Does anyone have any insight to this?

No chance it could be a receptical problem on the MB? I've had this a couple of times where a keyboard just doesn't want to reliably work, a bit of contact-cleaner / swab / alcohol on the FPC receptical (and then the FPC lead itself - carefully!) and it works again. Not saying it's the actual fault in your case, nor suggesting you haven't tried it - but thought i'd just throw it in, just in case.

The two keyboard product numbers were differen't so I've ordered a third keyboard but the same design this time, hopefully it'll work.

Good luck with it. Had a laptop come in today with "completely dead keyboard", turned out it was just needed reinsertion into the FPC receptical, thank goodness.

Managed to score a used keyboard for this for a fiver on the net. Just need to get a refund on the other one!
