V3000 Intel No Display At LCD But Got Display On External Monitor

Hi,

I got 1 unit V3000 Compaq mobo. The problem is, No display on LCD panel but got display when I connect it to external monitor. Anyone can help me?

More details, please. Have you checked flat cable, flat cable connector, etc? How is the chipset temperature?

If you shine a flashlight on screen can you make out an image ? Try moving cursor and shine light in area it should be displayed in (same area as external monitor). If you see anything you have a bad inverter or ccfl. Inverter is an easy fix. CCFL, not so much...

I already checked a flat cable and flat cable is OK. This model is using Intel chipset and temperature for chipset is only warm and not getting too hot. Already tried to use another LCD, inverter and flat cable but still got no display and no backlight.

Check LCD flat cable connector solder (on motherboard), look for cold joints.

If you already tried LCD, inverter and flat cable, and are sure everything is alright with them, you should check voltage on the inverter board. It has to have about 18.5v (equivalent to the ac adapter voltage), 5v and 3v or 3.3v.

If you don't have the voltages, check components U11 and U10. If everything is alright you'll probably have to reflow or reball the GPU. Post your tests.

Component U11 & U10 is 8 pins IC. This is V3000 Intel mobo. Are you sure I need to reball / reflow Intel GPU?

I have had some cases like this that reballing did the trick.
