Help with Acer N19H3 - not powering on

I have an Acer N19H3 (SF514-54GT-79RX) that came in not turning on. After inspecting the motherboard and using the thermal camera i found a short on the IT8225VG-128. After removing this component the short had gone.

I ordered a new chip from Ali and after installing it, it still didn't turn on most of the power rails are present (19v, 5v, 3v etc). Using my bench power supply without the battery connected i'm getting 20mA constant but with the battery installed a can see it's charging it up fine (1-2Amp).

I also noticed that both the power and charging LEDs where on constant.

At this stage i was unsure if the new IT8225VG-128 i had bought was faulty so i reballed the old chip and tried that, for some reason the short had gone but still getting 20mA and it will still charge the battery, if connected. Also the 5v enable was missing which comes from the IT8225VG-128. On the LED front it was acting normal (flashing orange light when the battery was connected and the power LED off)

After doing some research i found that the IT8225VG-128 needs to be programmed to the board for it to function correctly. Is this correct? I also need to purchase some type of programmer to connect to the keyboard connector (this is a BGA chip) but i don't know where to find the programming software to upload to the chip itself. I'm also in a grey area about how to do this as I've never programmed this type of chip before. (could do with a tutorial or you tube explanation) I'm ok with doing the bios and i have a universal programmer to do it but this is all new to me.

Can anyone with experience in this field help me.

If the battery is getting charged, the EC should be fine and the (second) issue is elsewhere. From where comes the idea to reball the EC will solve a short? No offense, but this is basically nonsense.

In which power rail did you inject to confirm a dead Embedded controller? To start with.

I didn't need to inject any power rails as it was glowing red when i initially applied power to the laptop. I did see a very small amount of corrosion after removing the original chip. This question was only asking on how to program the IT8225VG-128 as i still feel that this is at fault and needs the software to be uploaded onto it.

Yes, i'm aware that i need a programmer. What i'm uncertain about is how to program it. Do i need program software for this particular model of laptop? Where do i get the software to upload to the chip? How do i program it? I've never doe this before and that's why i calling out to the members to give me some advise. As the initial message reads 'I'm also in a grey area about how to do this as I've never programmed this type of chip before. (could do with a tutorial or you tube explanation) I'm ok with doing the bios and i have a universal programmer to do it but this is all new to me.'

The Software to get acces to the EC is normally delivered with the Programmer. The firmware for the EC, you can source in best case from the defective EC. Otherwise there are dozens of paid and non-paid sources available in the Web, including this badcaps forum, BIOS Section.

Guide to transplant MEC1503 EC chip and EEPROM reprogamming for T14s gen 2 and X13 gen 2
              by acedogblast
This is a guide that I am writing for helping others to replace their MEC1503 EC chip if it breaks (or to get around an inconvenient prompt to the BIOS). This forum has been extremely helpful to me so I would like to contribute to help others. I will tell you right now that this task is very difficult to do. You MUST have experience and tools to do precision micro-soldering, BGA reballing, trace repair, and general laptop repair skills.

There are some specialty tools needed to do this task. The replacement MEC1503 chips can be acquired from Aliexpress. Do not buy the bare chips as...

Acer e15-e5-576g-5762 bricked. Bios chip won't interface in AsProgrammer.
              by inck243
Thanks for any help. The board version is DAZAARMB6E0 REV: E. The bios chip is winbond 25Q64JVSIQ1736. W25Q64JV is not available in AsProgrammer -- only BV CV FV or FW_1.8c. The chip won't interface with asProgrammer and a CH341A. When I have this chip on the board, the laptop will not post but when I plug it in to power, the blue LED lights up, also the orange when the battery is connected. When I push the power on button, keyboard backlight turns on and the fan starts briefely then turns off. But I can't do anything to program this bios chip so I bought another one.

              The BIOS...

Modify Acer V65X BIOS to initialize the CS4237B chip
              by kotel studios
              Hi,

Since the ACER V65X doesn't have the onboard CS4237B audio and my own V65XA BIOS is toast, I need some help trying to figure out how am I supposed to put the init instructions from lets say an Acer V58XA with the same audio chip into the V65X BIOS.

Anybody who could be kind enough to at least seperate the part where V58XA initializes the sound chip?

Attaching the V58XA and V65X BIOS'es in the zip files....
