    Re: Smd chip identification

This is a common jellybean part. This is a bidirectional dual ESD diode to protect 5 volt signal lines in a sot23 package. It can be replaced by many others.

From where do you like to purchase your parts?

Was this part near your USB connector?

Correction: the MESC5V02BD03_SOT23-3 is a unidirectional dual ESD diode. That is, the part will only allow for positive voltage to pass through and will immediately block negative voltage. If the line goes above 5 volts in the positive side, this diode will shunt the voltage to ground. Summary: dual lines will be protected from transient surges beyond 5 volts. The electronic symbol (bidirectional) shown in your post is not matching this part which should be unidirectional.

        Re: Smd chip identification

        Hi mon2,
first of all thank you for your precious help and explanation. In fact this part is near the RJ45 lan connector. (i attach a piture of it on the red square)
I have some other faulty laptop boards, which i can try to find those equivalent parts you mentioned, maybe i can find something.
Meanwhile i found the memory slot and KB9052Q-D chip have some pins with corrosion, thats a diferent level of repair i might try to do, dont know if with sucess.
The pins on motherboard seem they are compromised, if so, thats maybe the end of it

Thank you, appreciate very much your help.

ASRock B650M PRO RS - BIOS CHIP 25Q256JW BLOCKED BY STATUS REGISTERS
          by DynaxSC
          Hi

I have a very strange issue with the BIOS SPI chip of an ASRock B650M PRO RS motherboard.
The SPI chip is an Winbond 25Q256JWEQ model (1V8).
The motherbaord doas not POST - it lits only CPU and DRAM EZ Debug Leds, and stays that way forever.
The Flashback function of the motherbaord is also not working, despite all instructions followed correctly - I'm 100% sure of this.

I have then desoldered the chip, backupped the contents, and tried to earease the chip in order to program stock image, but the chip is locked by status registers SREG2 (TB) and SREG6...

Guide to transplant MEC1503 EC chip and EEPROM reprogamming for T14s gen 2 and X13 gen 2
          by acedogblast
This is a guide that I am writing for helping others to replace their MEC1503 EC chip if it breaks (or to get around an inconvenient prompt to the BIOS). This forum has been extremely helpful to me so I would like to contribute to help others. I will tell you right now that this task is very difficult to do. You MUST have experience and tools to do precision micro-soldering, BGA reballing, trace repair, and general laptop repair skills.

There are some specialty tools needed to do this task. The replacement MEC1503 chips can be acquired from Aliexpress. Do not buy the bare chips as...

Need help with GIGABYTE B550 UD AC REV 1.0 chip identification
          by Sunday1302
I removed this chip with markings "14 8A SA4" between an HDMI port and a USB port that was faulty. I need to replace it, but I have not been able to properly identify this chip using the markings provided on the chip itself. If anyone is able to provide information regarding this chip, I would greatly appreciate it....
