recovering abandoned Latitude 7430 laptop, bitlocker trouble

I've inherited a Dell Latitude 7430 with W10 that has Bitlocker installed. I have no documentation at all, so no recovery passwords.

I want to format and re-install Windows with no Bitlocker. I've gone to BIOS and made the USB with the install the first boot option, and that works. But when following the prompts to install, when I am asked what drive to format the option area is empty. It suggests loading drivers.

I have gone to Command Prompt and am able to see the C: drive and it's four partitions there.

I can see the Bitlocker ID in Command Prompt but the password does not display.

I'm at a loss how to get Windows to install. Help? Please?

You need to download and extract the Dell Intel RST drivers onto a USB. Use Load Driver when you get to the drive bit and browse to the folder with the drivers in it on the USB.

Windows 10 doesn't natively have drivers for the newer chipsets (I think this is 12th gen Intel). You either slipstream them in (as Dell does in their factory installers) or you do it manually.

I've got the W10 installation media loaded on a clean USB stick. As to the drivers, the only download I see is for a *.exe. How do I extract the drivers? Or, do I just load the *.exe on the USB? Sorry, clueless here :-)

Download Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver and Application, extract the .exe file using 7zip or Winrar, then find the drivers in: Production\Windows10-x64\15063\Drivers\
Or enter the BIOS and switch RAID to AHCI, then boot from your installer.
