    Yoga 7-14itl5 nm-d131 USB-C problem

Hello I need advice how to repair my Lenovo yoga 7.
In my Lenovo yoga 7-14itl5 motherboard nm-d131 there is a problem with usb-c port JUC1.
    This laptop has 2 ports usb-c and 1 usb-A.

Problem port is JUC1. When i connect original power adapter - laptop is charging only 1 side. Also when I connect any usb-c device laptop doesn't see it and I get a power surge on the usb port error. When i connect Oneplus 9 original 65w charger the laptop interrupt charging every 2 seconds.

    JUC2 work's correctly
    USB-A work's correctly too

I have changed UU3 JHL8040Rб but it didn't change anything.
I checked the port under a microscope and it looks good.

Does anyone know what can cause this problem and how to fix it?
Thanks for your help in advice.

      Re: Yoga 7-14itl5 nm-d131 USB-C problem

I just had a similar issue with a Yoga computer. It only had a single charging port and I could only charge the notebook on one side. I put some flux around the port pins and reflowed it with a heat gun @ 370c for may be 10-15 seconds. Now, the charging port works on both sides. Well, at least this worked for me. Your case could be different.

I have to admit that the Thunderbolt Controller (UU3) has nothing to do with your issue since it is not related to Power delivery.
You need to look into the actual PD-Circuit instead, so what is going on around UU1. Especially UU7 would be one of my first suspects

          Re: Yoga 7-14itl5 nm-d131 USB-C problem

          Thank you for the advice.
I started comparing measurements between uu7 and uu11 and noticed a difference in the signal resistance of TBTA_CC1_CONN (around 9mΩ) compared to TBTA_CC2_CONN, TBTB_CC2_CONN, and TBTB_CC1_CONN (the resistance was stable at 11.3mΩ).
I decided to swap the uu7 and uu11 microchips, but it didn't yield any results. Also, when I connect the charger to the damaged socket, I observe voltage spikes from 0.5 to 2 volts on uu11 TBTB_CC2_CONN, TBTB_CC1_CONN. Additionally, I noticed another thing: when I connect the charger to the problem port, the side that doesn't charge the laptop, if I start moving the cable at a certain angle, the laptop starts working.

I will order a replacement power socket from China and replace it.
It's possible that the issue lies with UU1, but I decided to replace the power socket first

            Re: Yoga 7-14itl5 nm-d131 USB-C problem

Hello again, everyone. After replacing the port, the laptop started working correctly. So, even if the port looks perfect under a microscope, it's worth starting the repair from it, rather than, like I did, spending a lot of time searching for a problem that doesn't exist.

Related to this repair, UU1, can one order a replacement online or does it have to be pulled from a donor board due to some firmware that's on the chip?
