    Macbook Air A1466 SMC_RESET_L

    Hello Everyone,
    Namaste!

    I have a Macbook A1466 820-00165 . The board wont turn on. No signs of corrosion but the board had a lot of dust and saw. Cleaned it up properly. I would get Green/Orange Light randomly sometimes with a fan spin and the machine will power on normally and sometimes No Light, No Fan Spin and it wont turn on.

    When there is no light and it wont turn on,

    PPBUS_G3H is stuck at 8.17V.
    PP3v42 is at 3.4V
    SMC_RESET_L is at 3.1V.

    When ahead and reballed the U5110. Post that it booted 3-4 times but then went back to being the same.

    Any help in this regard will be of great help.

      Check the voltage to ground of the smbus SCL and SDA pins on the battery connector.

        Machine is behaving erratic. Now i am getting light on the charger and no fan spin -Without Battery Installed.

        PPBUS at 8.6V.
        SDA and SCL Pins giving 3.4V.

        The i connected the battery. At first it showed only green light and no fan spin. Then when i re conected the charger and the device now turned on normally.
        SDA and SCL Pins giving 3.4V with Battery connected as well.

          Are you using the original and recommended power adapter?

          Measure the voltage to ground of each pin on the dual diode that feeds the 3v42 regulator.

          Test with only the power adapter, with only the battery and then with both.

          Post each measurement.

                  If this signal is low, the logic board does not like the power adapter. Test it with a known good battery.

                    YOu mean just the board battery and adapter?

                      Attach a battery like normal to see if it can power up the board. Or test with a known good adapter for this model. The signal notes it does not like your power adapter.

                      Need to fix my mother's AC. Blower motor not running. Could be the run capacitor on the motor. Garbage.

                        Hi Mon2,
                        Just an update. Removed the SMC. There was dust and debris there. Cleaned and it re - soldered it.

                        Machine working fine now.

                          Hi All,

                          I got macbook air 820-00165 with green light but no fan spin.
                          Measurements:

                          PPBUS_G3H = 8.14V
                          PP3V3_S5 = 0V
                          PP5V_S5 = 0V
                          SMC_WAKE_L = 3.12V
                          SMC_ONOFF_L = 3.4V
                          SMC_RESET_L = 3.38V

                          should i change the U7501 first?

                          Macbook Air A1466 820-3437-B Booting Problem
                          by psdavid65
                          I received a 2013 Macbook Air A1466 820-3437-B motherboard with serial number C02L6GQ9FSV8 that came in WITHOUT a bios chip. I got a new bios chip and reprogrammed it. Macbook now powers on but doesn't boot the SSD. I've flashed a ton of bios but still same problem. Windows installation works with this Macbook but never a mac installation. Unfortunately, since I didn't receive this macbook with a bios chip, I don't have the original bios. What can I do now?...

                          Hello all,

                          Working on my wife's 13' Macbook air. It's been in a box since she upgraded but I figured it could be good practice.

                          I don't know how to test the voltage on a MacBook battery. I just assumed it had an enable pin but the best I could read was 300 something mV poking around the battery connector.

                          It's an older model and it is very likely that battery has become...
