HP Envy x360 15-cp0012AU battery issue

Hi i got this nice laptop in for battery replacement TS.

Owner ordered a replacement battery off Ebay (seller ratings were legit though :-)
Charger is a also new non original HP blue pin but does own the resistor between (+) to middle pin.
    + 19.76v
    0.845v on brown wire

Original battery (LK03XL) was bloated and was showing 100% but didn't hold any charge,
    Pin1-2 (+) terminal 0.056v.
    Pin3: 2.968v
    Pin4 2.968v
    Pin5: 3.23v
    Pin 6-8: GND

Replacement battery arrived charged and laptop powered up.
But didn't agree to charge the using laptop charger.
    It eventually drained

I wanted to understand if the battery will agree to charge if i apply 11v off my adjustable power supply to the battery + terminal once it's still connected to the MB, and it was charging fine.
    Pin1-2 (+) terminal 9.7v.
    Pin3: 2.852v
    Pin4 2.852v
    Pin5: 3.13v
    Pin 6-8: GND

Weird thing is that now the laptop refuses to power up with the new battery connected (3 orange blinks).
Without any battery or using the old battery it's powering without any issue.

I know sometimes the battery itself might be the issue but since it was charging fine if i apply voltage then i doubt if i can eliminate any other factors before ordering another battery from a different seller.

You injected 11V to + terminal of battery while it was connected to motherboard? Thats not the way to check a battery. If this was what you did,You may have damaged the dischrge fet and/or charger IC.

    Wait for others opinion.

Re: HP Envy x360 15-cp0012AU battery issue

i let the new battery drain while connected to the MB without charger and the laptop agrees to power up with it.

      So no harm was done.

new battery is being identified orange light is one, battery charge is 0% but it's not increasing.

Can you suggest some tests? maybe around the charger ic BQ25708

ASUS X571 no power : battery issue?
          by mkdj
          Hello everyone,

          Mark and model: ASUS X571
Symptoms: not turning on. There is only the LED battery indicator working. The owner of the laptop told me this problem arrived one week after having changed the battery. He then managed to power on the laptop only once, and then it never powered on again.

          Tests already made:
          - Battery is charging when laptop is plugged in. The LED battery indicator turns white after a couple of hours of charge, indicating that battery is fully charged. However, laptop won't turn on anyway, with or without AC plug.
          - I have removed...

Dell E6400 PT434 type Battery Charging Stuck at 1%. Battery Pinouts?
          by Bowline
My question pertains to understanding the control circuity inside a Dell PT434 type battery used in Dell E6400, E6410 and other Dell notebooks?

Does anyone have a circuit diagram for the inside of a Dell PT434 battery and/or a description of how the control lines work to control this battery?

My reason for asking is I have a battery which I cannot get to charge beyond 1% in a Dell E6410 or E6400.
The LED bar graph charge indicator on the battery shows one LED lighted when the info button is pressed.
I have tried multiple different Dell power adapters. My Dell...

Lenovo P43s won't boot with internal battery connected – looking for help diagnosing battery issue
          by code share
          Hi everyone,

I'm having an issue with my Lenovo ThinkPad P43s. The laptop does not power on when the internal battery is connected, but it works fine on AC power alone (battery disconnected). Once the battery is reconnected, the system becomes completely unresponsive — no lights, no fan spin, nothing.

Here's what I've tried so far:
          • Power/EC reset (held power button for 60 seconds with battery and AC disconnected)
          • Booted successfully on AC power only with the battery disconnected
          • Visual inspection of the battery — no swelling, burn marks, or connector damage

HP ELITE X2 1013 G3 weird battery issue
          by huzo
Hi, so the old battery was getting error stated it's capacity is starting too get low and should be replaced, so the customer bought a new one and replaced it, but the new battery was also getting this notice that it's capacity is getting low and should be replaced, so i took the laptop for testing and the battery is charging at the terminal at 8.03V , the voltage of the battery is 7.7V, and drawing around 600mA when charger is put and the laptop is off...so that should be ok... but the bios system test doesn't recognize the battery and can't do the battery test and so is the hp battery manager,...

Dell Inspiron 3542 (Cedar_Intel-MB 13269-1) - RTC battery self-discharging and Realtek LAN issue
          by danielsak
Hello, I have issue with Dell Inspiron 3542.

          Motherboard marking:
          Code:
          Cedar_Intel-MB 13269-1
          PWB FX3MC REV: A00
The laptop works just fine (on battery and power supply) and doesn't cause any problems, except those described below:
          1. The first problem is that the RTC/CMOS battery self-discharges after about 2-3 weeks after installing a new battery. I have been installing different batteries (GP, Duracell, Energizer) and the problem still exist.
          1. The second problem is the LAN network card (Realtek RTL8106E), which is not detected at all in Windows. The BIOS is
