HP ProBook 440 G3 not charging

    Hi,
I have this ProBook that suddenly stopped charging.
    This is what happens:
The laptop will only power on when both battery and charger are plugged. But no battery charging icon. As soon as I unplug charging cable, it will power off.
If battery is removed, the laptop will not power on, even with the charger connected.
This is the voltage reading on battery connector pins with both battery and charger connected, from left to right:
    pin 1&2 gnd
    pin 3 0v
    pin 4 0v (seems not connected,no wire)
    pin 5 3.3v
    pin 6 3.3v
    pin 7&8 0.2v
    any suggestion?
    thanks in advance

Locate the charger IC. Meter in dc volts 30v or higher scale is ok.

Carefully measure the voltage to ground of each pin on the charger IC.

Post the measurements with the pin # of the IC.

      Thank you.
Do you mean this 52-pin PU2 ic?

I think you refer to PU1 ic BQ24780RUYR..right?
I will measure all the 28 pins voltage. Do I need to have both charger and battery connected? Or only charger is enough?

Yes, PU1. Remove the battery and start with measuring voltage to ground with only the power adapter.

Meter in 30v or higher DC volts scale. Measure the voltage to ground for each pin.

Post your measurements with pin #.

If is your battery connector fully and corectly plugged in, I think that you have locked battery controler inside battery, maybe overdischarged few cells or burn fuse.

That the laptop wont start without battey is modern bs, maybe is only dumb suspend with sense pin pulled to gnd...? Unplug battery and power up laptop and measure voltage on each pin again -> compare with previous data. If you measure say 3v on pin#3, you can try to pull it down with some small value resistor to 0v and see if it power up.
