Yeah sure thing. Totally understandable. Otherwise we are just at a Nascar race. Drive fast turn left! Haha Here is a pic of the shorted area. Thanks again.

        1.05VS rail:

R2706, R2539 R0614,R0313,Q7702,PJP8201,PJP8202 all continious to ground. But resistance to ground is higher from components on the front side of board rather than the back side. Can i inject voltage with the ITE off or that too dangerous for the CPU?

i finally realized you refer to the boardview without mentioning it. So now i want to understand why you randomly measured Pin 34 of the VRM controller without any reason? And when you do so, always share EXACT resistance to GND. Except you like, when the people here have to ask again, again and again.

So what value did you find at VCCSENSE Pin...?

Edit: Same for the +1.05VS rail ofc.

My appologies. I am new to this. Not trying to cause headaches. Yes, i use the boardview. Because you cant rely much on the schematic for this board. The VRM controller measurement was probably because i didnt know the name of the rail i needed so i just searched boardview for P_VCORE.

VCCSENSE on PSL8006 shows 32.9 reisistance to ground.

So still, CPU Core rail and VCCSENSE measures absolutely fine and not(!) Shorted. This low values there are absolutely normal.

Meanwhile the +1.05V is shorted to GND. Lift the related coil from at least one pad and share on which side the short persists.

I don't see a coil with 1.05v attached on either one of its pins. Can you point me in the right direction?

                  PL8200

Check resistance to GND there (any pad) again before lifting, to confirm

                    Okay PL8200
                    Pin 1 = Constant pulsing
                    Pin 2 = 0.8

                    Removed coil.
                    Pin 1 = 2.761
                    Pin 2 = 2.7

And now we want to inject 1V into pin2 to confirm a shorted PCH.

I have the wire connections ready. Just waiting on phone battery to charge. I need to get a straight up thermal camera and sell this ios Flir One pro. I will report back asap.

Okay injected 1v @ 1a on pad 2 of PL8200. The board pulled a 1 amp draw. But nothing got hot on the board. At least not visible to the thermal cam. I tested front and back of board for heat.

1Amp might be not enough then. Concentrate on the platform controller hub (PCH). I'm pretty convinced it is the culprit.

It is. It seems you need more current or a better thermal camera.

Yeah it sure sounds like it. What is the max current i can send and still be safe? Maybe try 1.8 amps?
