Re: A1398 820-00138 Power on but No Charging no Green or Orange Light
No light can be linked to the missing 3v42 rail. Check @ L7095 for PP3V42_G3H.
What is the voltage to ground.
The 3v42 rail is used to power the single wire LED & adapter circuit inside the power adapter. -

Measure L7630 to ground first, make sure the PCH isn't shorted. Magsafe is driven by the SMC so ensure you have PP3V42_G3H at L5001, PP3V3_S5_AVREF_SMC and SMC_RESET_L is high. If the SMC is running, you should at least have PP3V3_S5.Comment

Re: A1398 820-00138 Power on but No Charging no Green or Orange Light
L7630 to ground 1.05V
the PCH is not shorted.
PP3V42_G3H at L5001 is 3.42V
PP3V3_S5_AVREF_SMC is 3.29v
can´t find SMC_RESET_L my be your mean SMC_LRESET_L? I measured it on Resistor R2083 pin 2 and i get 0,00V.
and PP3V3_S5 3.30VComment

Re: A1398 820-00138 Power on but No Charging no Green or Orange Light
Well that wasn't clear to me. No magsafe and no charge I interpreted as a dead unit. You will have greater chance of success with clear descriptions up front.
First, ensure you are using an adequately sized Magsafe 2 adaptor as 15" A1398 pull at least 4 amps to charge a battery. 85W adaptor is what you should be using. If you don't get any Magsafe status, then SMC won't enable charging.
Most common issue I see is burnt/pitted Magsafe connectors from using non-genuine chargers (sparking etc when plugged in) so try another Magsafe connector first. Troubleshoot your one-wire circuit (SMC_BC_ACOK from U7100, U7000/U7001 etc) if fault persists.Comment

Make sure you are using an 85W Magsafe 2 adaptor, and a known good battery. Often it's just a bad battery on these.
Pick your supplier carefully for MAC batteries. Most of the ones out there are complete garbage, especially anything marketed as genuine.Comment

Hello again,
got an MacBook Pro from 2015, model A1502 and motherboard version 820-3476-A.
Device died over night on charger.
Currently I did the follow things:
1. Checked visuell the board, test with another MagSafe-Charger and with another DC-IN-board too
2. Measured 16,5V on PP18V5_DCIN_FUSE but 0V on ADAPTER_SENSE and 0V on PP_3V42_G3H and 0V on PPBUS_G3H but 16,5V goes to U7090
3. Because of corrosion and bad resistor values I changed these components: U7090 / C7094 / C7095 / R7095 / R7096 / L7095 / C7099 -> But further... -

by aahazimHello there. I've got an issue with my Macbook Pro A1425 820-3462 with no green/orange light when plug in. Also I was unable to boot with the battery plugged in. When I change the DC-in board to another spare one I had, it show orange light and boot up with fan spinning, without the battery plug in. But it will randomly just not showing the magsafe light and the system become slow and the fans just when erratic all of sudden
Here's the voltage I've measured based on the guide I've read :
Original DC-in board (no green/orange light, no fan spin) :

Hello Everyone!
I have an Acer Aspire A315-42 laptop. I generally leave it on for long time by closing down its lid (so it enters the sleep mode). Recently, it rained quite heavily in out area. And the humidity and moisture seem to be high. So one late evening, after I opened the lid and turned on the laptop, it did power on as the blue light turned on but after it booted to the desktop screen, just 5-10 seconds after both the screen and blue light went out and laptop shut down (the blue power light turned orange). And after 2-4 seconds that orange light went off and the laptop died....06-28-2025, 02:57 PM - Loading...
