- There is a four pin crystal marked with "38,41" and I could measure this frequence 38,41MHz exactly on the crystal directly and on the other components, like capacitors, around it at 1V
- When I measure the crystal marked with the "39081" I get nothing. Neither when I measure directly at the crystal, nor at the components around.
- The EC is an IT5571E

I also expected 32,768kHz but I only get 300-600mv with no frequence.

Okay, but then this LDO should not be the problem, because with that pinout, there is basically no voltage on PIN4 and the 3,3V I measured is the right output. That doesn't make it easier. He tried to solder a connector, forgot to disconnect the battery and shorted the part "39081" with the iron. Sparks lighted up there. Now the laptop don't start. I got a customer device with a water damage. The pc show no signs of life. Absolutely nothing.

Under my thermal camera I can see the that the NPCE388PB0DX embedded controller immediately getting a 60-70°C hotspot, like a little shorted capacitor, after I plugged in the power supply. The 3.3V from bios battery and the voltage on power button is present. I ordered a new embedded controller and a RT809H to program it, too. After removing the EC I soldered it on the socket PCB for the programmer, but it can't read the chip because of false chip id 0x0. I think it's...

I think that´s a weird case.

Today the parcel with the SY9329CQFC was delivered. I quickly reflowed the new chip onto the motherboard, attached all wires, fans, keyboard, RAM and so on (but not the battery) and pressed the power button. The fans started to spin and the laptop booted properly. So I assembled the battery too and with power supply in, the orange charging led turned on. Now, after I pressed the power button, the laptop booted too, but the coil whine is back. So I took out my thermal cam and the components, which are red marked, are between 95-110°C...

Measured the output pins in diode-mode with no short to ground, before I had desolder the chip. And yes, I checked under thermal with all parts connected, removed parts piece for piece and even with only motherboard and dc-jack, the short was there and chip was getting hot. After I removed the chip, the laptop is booting fine....

In that schematics, there is only one chip SYV269CQFC with same pinout, and it has VIN as input and +12V_FAN as output. Apparently it's the same in my case and provide 12V for the fans too. I already measured the output pins with no short. Now I must wait until the parcel with the new chips arrive, and then I can give feedback if that was the solution.

With the information from mon2 about the SY9329CQFC I found block-diagramm, pin-out and datasheet of similar chip too. Under thermal cam it looks like the PIN9 goes hot, but I measured this pin and I got 3,3V with power on. I removed the chip and without it, the laptop is booting fine now. So I think the issue is probably a short circuit inside this chip. I ordered new one of SY9329CQFC via AliExpress. I live in germany and I think the delivery needs one or two weeks. Hope this chip is really the culprit and not only just a problem that I isolated by removing it. I don´t proceed to test it further,...

actually, one of my problem is the dual-channel mosfet Q7130. Without the mosfet I get 0,25V on PPBUS_G3H and not anymore 16,5V.

It's a K03P0 RJK03P0DPA and I have continuity on MOS1 in both ways between PIN2/3/4 (D1) and PIN9 (S1/D2). Tried to close gate or open circuit with black probe on PIN1 and red on drain/source but nothing change. MOS2 with schottky barrier diode works fine with 150ohm from PIN5/6/7 (S2) to PIN9 (S1/D2) and no continuity in the other way. Gate on PIN8 open and close the circuit. So I think this mosfet is shorted and the culprit or...

Resistance to ground of L7095 -> PIN1 = ~50kohm / PIN2 = ~70kohm and ~312ohm in diode-mode.

DCIN_ISOL_GATE = 6,7V and I think that is correct too, because auf p-channel mosfet which voltage on gate must be lower than source and then it let it trough.

Who is the culprit to get 16,5V instead of the properly 12,27V (with smc off/no boost to 12,56V) on PPBUS_G3H after changing charging-ic ISL? I don´t get it.

Tested with no power.

On diode with red probe on PIN1 or PIN2 and black probe on PIN3 I measure 217-220ohm and nothing/no conduct with reversed probes neither on PIN1 nor PIN2. The voltage is slighty different, one side 16,70-16,9V unstable and PPBUS_G3H_R on Diode 16,5V.

PPBUS_G3H in diode of course with red probe on ground and black probe on testpoint -> 158ohm.

During measure it feels like I load up a mosfet or a capacitor...

- D7005 on all three pins ~16,5V and diode measured in good condition in diode-mode (flow only to one side)
- U7090 replaced already. Cause 0V on 3,42V rail, but problem was corrosion under resistor-pad so I build a jumper. After that got 3,32V, replaced U7090 in hope getting 3,42V again but absolutly same voltage
- Already removed R7095 and R7096 and exchanged because of corrosion. Double checked and measured resistance with resistors off-circuit with 349kohm und 209kohm like schematic and on-circuit 50kOHM and 149kohm and on-circuit to ground ~150kohm
- Tried to measure PPBUS_G3H...

Did it before up to state "PM_SLP_SUS_L":

- PP_3V42_G3H is present with 3,32V
- Checked Clock-Signals with Oscilloscope -> Working
- All Signals and Voltages are present until state SMC_PM_G2_EN there is 0V but SYS_ONWIRE has 3,32V and with that I get all lines until ADAPTER_SENSE and there is also 3,3V but no orange or green light
- PP3V3_S5_SMC_VDDA has 3.32V too so I though it must be a issue between SMC and charging-ic.

Changed ISL three times to ensure good solder but with new one I got 16,5V on PPBUS_G3H ? Removed Q7130 to isolate...

Device died over night on charger.

Currently I did the follow things:

1. Checked visuell the board, test with another MagSafe-Charger and with another DC-IN-board too
2. Measured 16,5V on ​PP18V5_DCIN_FUSE but 0V on ADAPTER_SENSE and 0V on PP_3V42_G3H and 0V on PPBUS_G3H but 16,5V goes to U7090
3. Because of corrosion and bad resistor values I changed these components: U7090 / C7094 / C7095 / R7095 / R7096 / L7095 / C7099 -> But further...

I found the faulty component. The capacitor "C646" of the RGB-lights for the keyboard was shorted to ground. After I removed it, got 500+- ohms and short has gone. Put EM5290 back and laptop starts working fine again.

first of all I want to apologize for my bad English, but I try to give my best.

Customer brought me a laptop, which is charging the battery (when the dc-jack is connected) but don't power up when the power-button was pressed down. Only the white LED lights up, and you can hear a short noise in same interval when power-button was pressed and hold for longer timer. The customer changed already battery and dc-power-adapter.

For this laptop the correct shematic is the service manual "Clevo NH50ER NH57ER NH50EPS NH57EPS - 6-71-NH5S0-D02 Schematic"....
