The adapter is critical and if with less power, the logic board will be throttled and charging will halt.
Test with a suitable adapter.
Next step is to review the schematics.Comment

It is possible that the BMC communication for the power delivery are not working to negotiate the power delivery contract.
Remove all power. Meter in diode mode. Review the usb c pinout and check the diode mode readings for CCx pins.Comment

CCx pins:both 0.168 with red to ground otherwise open

Sounds low. Have not had a chance to review the schematics but check if there is a TVS diode on this line. If yes, carefully remove it and then check the same CCx diode reading to see if it is higher in value.CCx pins:both 0.168
Note that CC1 is for one side of the USB C connector blade; CC2 is for the other side of the USB C connector blade.
Either can then communicate with the power adapter over this single wire communication.Comment

Here are some known good DIODE mode readings from macbooks that make use of the USB C interface:
If you see a TVS diode on the line with the low diode reading, remove the TVS diode and test again to see if the measurement is higher.USBC0_CC1 Default d 0.588
USBC0_CC2 Default d 0.569
USBC1_CC1 Default d 0.584

Hi there. I am trying to repair an Acer Nitro 5 AN515-45 and it's giving me some trouble. I have access to SMD rework station, variable power supply, digital oscilloscope, thermal camera, multimeter, stereo microscope.
This laptop will boot and run from the power brick and/or the internal battery, but it will not charge the battery. NirSoft BattInfo tells me the charge/discharge currents, so I'm confident in saying that it's not charging. In addition, there's no increase in voltage at the battery connector when the laptop thinks it's charging, not even a few millivolts.

I currently trying to figure out why the laptop of my friend did not charge.
It is a Acer AN515-42 (Ryzen 5 2500U), I manage to make it works on AC and battery but no charging.
At first it was not working on Battery, I discovered that PQ201 was knocked off and replace it => work on battery precharged on another computer.
I also checked the small resistors between PQ312 and PQ201 and even if they are ugly values are OK.
My issue, when I plug the charger computer off, it drains 0.25A during few seconds with amber light on (charging) then amber light blinks... -
I have Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Nano Gen 1 which is not charging on 1 usbc port (the one that has mark for charging).
When i connect usb it switchs to 20v but no current draw (only 0.02a) and orang light is on. In windows it shows that is charging but percentage is dropping.
Other usbc is charging fine,
I installed lates bios and firmwares for thunderbolt and battery.

Charging IC: BQ24780 which I have repalced.
Issue Description:
I'm experiencing an issue with the charging system on this laptop. The BQ24780 charging IC is not working as expected. The main problems are:- ACDET is missing (0V):, Reading 0V on the ACDET pin.
- ACOK is not present (0V): Is missing as well.
- No SMBus signals (SDA and SCL are missing): The SDA and SCL signals for SMBus communication are not present. There is no clock (SCL) or data (SDA) activity on these lines.
