    Asus X541uv rev2 Always charging

Hi i have this board. With battery connected the laptop dont turn on.
Without battery, the board turn on but the board thinks always have the battery conneced. The charging light is on(without battery) and the mosfet are working trying to charge the battery (12v on coil, battery disconected). Even Windows says battery 100% when i open the battery icon.
I changed the bq but same behaviour
    Can any help me?

OMG - your board needs to mate with the boards that do not charge and breed.

Which BQ chip is onboard ? Post the topside markings.

BQ chips like to use 2 x DCin N-channel mosfets. As per @Pienov's sticky (buns?) above, the 2nd mosfet often leaks and causes such faults.

You will need to check if the DCin mosfets are leaking using a resistance check.

Remove all power. Meter in resistance mode.

Measure the resistance across the mosfet pins.

    Source (1-2-3) & drain (5-6-7-8)
    Source (1-2-3) & gate (4)
    Gate (4) & drain (5-6-7-8)

Post each measurement for each DCin mosfets. These mosfets should be close to the power adapter connector and the charger IC.

Re: Asus X541uv rev2 Always charging

Hahaha i can share board's whatsapp number to meet boards dont want to charge

Mosfets are not in short, PQH8106 PQL8107, resistances are high. I just changed just in case.
What i found was some liquid damage, i just saw it on resistances rn2502, the signals are PM_RSMRST#_PCH and DPWROK_EC even a line was broken. Now is clean and the line is ok.

Now board turns on with and without battery, and charge battery ok but without battery charge battery too and the light is still always on.

What i found is the line TS1#_BAT_CON is always in 0v, dont know if without battery must be in high.
P_CHG_BATPRESS#_10 on bq is always 0v too, with and without battery.

How this board know when to charge the battery?

Remove all power and check the resistance to ground of

          P_CHG_BATPRESS#_10.

It is possible that a local pull-up resistor is missing.

Re: Asus X541uv rev2 Always charging

            P_CHG_BATPRESS#_10. 10k to ground
that line is connected to ec BAT_IN_OC# with a 10k resistor conected to ground.

The board with battery works perfect. Charge to 100% and stop charging at 100%. The only problem is without battery, so maybe i go to assemble the laptop couse with battery works ok.

Anyway, I would like to understand how the board detects the battery

The BQ24780 data sheet will offer in depth details of the charging process.

              Some quick points are:

              1) adapter is detected - check ACDET

              2) adapter is ok - check ACOK

              3) battery is present - check battery detect pin

              4) if adapter is attached, battery mosfet that is used to power the board will be OFF. Adapter will power the board. Check the voltage on each pin of the battery mosfet.

              5) charger mosfets to charge the battery will enable

              6) suggest for you to measure the voltage to ground of each pin on the charger IC.

Measure with adapter and battery connected.
Measure with adapter removed but battery connected.

              Post each batch of measurements.

ASUS X571 no power : battery issue?
                by mkdj
                Hello everyone,

                Mark and model: ASUS X571
Symptoms: not turning on. There is only the LED battery indicator working. The owner of the laptop told me this problem arrived one week after having changed the battery. He then managed to power on the laptop only once, and then it never powered on again.

                Tests already made:
                - Battery is charging when laptop is plugged in. The LED battery indicator turns white after a couple of hours of charge, indicating that battery is fully charged. However, laptop won't turn on anyway, with or without AC plug.
                - I have removed...

Dell E6400 PT434 type Battery Charging Stuck at 1%. Battery Pinouts?
                by Bowline
My question pertains to understanding the control circuity inside a Dell PT434 type battery used in Dell E6400, E6410 and other Dell notebooks?

Does anyone have a circuit diagram for the inside of a Dell PT434 battery and/or a description of how the control lines work to control this battery?

My reason for asking is I have a battery which I cannot get to charge beyond 1% in a Dell E6410 or E6400.
The LED bar graph charge indicator on the battery shows one LED lighted when the info button is pressed.
I have tried multiple different Dell power adapters. My Dell...

Asus VivoBook F510UA-AH51 won't run on battery after motherboard replacement
                by dhenion
I'm working on my sister's laptop: Asus VivoBook F510UA-AH51 - The motherboard died so I replaced it.

                The original board was:
                ASUS X510UNR REV 3.0 A

                The replacement board is:
                ASUS X510UNR REV 3.0 B (identical except B vs A - I couldn't find an A board anywhere. Visually they are identical.)

It boots right up on the replaced motherboard and everything works fine on the new motherboard - but it won't run off battery. When I disconnect the charger it immediately dies. When I plug it back in and reboot the system - it still shows the battery at...

Asus TUF won’t run off battery
                by rob777
I have an Asus TUF machine that doesn't run off battery. Runs off charger ok, shows orange battery charging light and shows battery is at 96%. Battery voltage is less than 0.5v though. It had a short on the 20v rail from a dead cap. Pic attached. Removed cap and replaced a dc in mosfet. Machine now powers and runs fine.
I have also replaced all 3 battery mosfets with no change. The 1st battery mosfet has 20v going in. Pic attached.
Does it sound like a battery ic problem, it has bq2470. Not sure if I should replace that as well at this stage as I'd need to order one.
                Thanks....

ASUS UX303UB REV2.2 WORKS ONLY BATTERY
                by ivangserrano
                Hello

I have an ASUS UX303UB that only turns on with the battery connected, it doesn't turn on only with the charger connected.
With the battery and charger connected, the computer turns on but does not charge and I can see some consumption at the source, it seems to me that the charger is taking over.
In the work environment I can see that the battery is at 24% and does not charge or discharge.
I checked the 24780s load ic and I have the following voltages.

                24780s
