    ASUS/ROG GL553V replacement mosfet

Hi, the circled mosfet on the added picture gets really hot and measures short, but I'm having issues finding a replacement.
    The mosfet reads:
    4843NS
    RSBD2

    Thanx in advance!

    Re: ASUS/ROG GL553V replacement mosfet

Remove the mosfet off the logic board. Test again the resistance across this mosfet's leads to see if it is shorted or not.

The mosfet is a common N-channel 5*6 mm style that can be found on most motherboards. Review the 2*DCin mosfets on other motherboards. Often from AON and the charger IC will be the 'BQ' style from Texas Instruments. They will be a drop in replacement.

Post the part numbers of other mosfets you have available to you. Otherwise you can order from Digikey or Mouser or AliExpress.

0 resistance between source/drain, it's completely shorted. Could you link me one from mouser for example? I'm not that familiar with these, normally I only work on macbooks :'). Thanx in advance!

Sure. After dropping off junior to the mall, will locate a valid sub. Any chance you have any donor boards of any brand?

Cool, thanx in advance! The only ones I have available are Apple (mainly from A1278 and A1466 devices), no other brands.

              Thank you!

The original was SOP-8 format, this doesn't matter as long as it fits I'm guessing?

Sop-8 = 8 pin package. It is the same size and the same pinout as the original.

Asus X712EA 3 volts after the first mosfet
                    by AppleLover123
                    Hey guys,

i have a asus motherboard here and as the title says after the first mosfet (in the picture) there is nothing more than 3.15v.
I injected 19v and max. 1 amp at the charging port and there is not voltage drop or smth. It's just taking 19v and 1 milliamp.
Then i tried to inject 19v and max 1amp after the current sensor and there it first takes 19v and 4 milliamps and after 2 seconds it is taking nothing (no current).
I measured on the coils on board everything seems fine. Also the main power rail is not shorted (infinite resistance).
                    Now i thought something...

                    Asus GA502D keeps blowing mosfet
                    by Scotchmist
I have an Asus GA502D, it had a blown mosfet which I replaced and the laptop booted into windows, a few mins later it shut off, the same mosfet was blown. I thought maybe just a bad mosfet but same thing happened again, a few mins in windows and shuts off.

I have removed the mosfet and can run the laptop no problem

                    The MOSFET is FDPC5018SG

Can anyone point me in the direction of what could be the cause of this, could it be the controller rt3663bc?

                    Thanks

Asus VivoBook F510UA-AH51 won't run on battery after motherboard replacement
                    by dhenion
I'm working on my sister's laptop: Asus VivoBook F510UA-AH51 - The motherboard died so I replaced it.

                    The original board was:
                    ASUS X510UNR REV 3.0 A

                    The replacement board is:
                    ASUS X510UNR REV 3.0 B (identical except B vs A - I couldn't find an A board anywhere. Visually they are identical.)

It boots right up on the replaced motherboard and everything works fine on the new motherboard - but it won't run off battery. When I disconnect the charger it immediately dies. When I plug it back in and reboot the system - it still shows the battery at...

Odd MOSFET only on some ASUS x99/x299/z370 motherboards..
                    by Timp74
                    Hi All,
Could anyone comment on the purpose of the MOSFET circled in red in the attached photo of an ASUS ROG X299 Extreme VRM?

I'm trying to fix an ASUS motherboard(WS x299 SAGE) with a similar VRM where this MOSFET has burnt out along with one of the IR3555m driver chips. From looking at photos of motherboard VRMs on the internet, it seems only some ASUS motherboards have a MOSFET like this. Although I've seen some photos of ASUS z370 boards where it's not populated. The MOSFET is usually a NTMFS4C06N. It has its drain connected to the output of the Vcore VRM, and on...

                    Dual mosfet replacement help
                    by DoOm86
                    Hello.
                    I have a notebook with a shorted mosfet, it's a E6930 GA8125.
It seems to be a 30V dual asymmetric N-channel AlphaMos.
Luckily the notebook is working, so I just need to find a good replacement for this mosfet.

And here is where I need help!
It's the first time I have to replace this kind of mosfet, I checked on mouse and I found this: (mouser No) = 512-FDPC5030SG.
I need your help to be sure is a good replacement or there is another with better compatibility, since I can't find the same exact (just from China).
                    Thanks!...
