    Xbox series x advise

    Hi

I was hoping someone could give me some advise. A friend dropped off an Xbox Series X for repair—normally not something I deal with, but I'm helping out as a favour.

Currently, the console powers on with a beep and then immediately powers off. On closer inspection, the HDMI port clearly needs replacing, and there's significant liquid damage/ missing components.

Before I go down the rabbit hole of sourcing a donor board and replacing damaged components, I wanted to ask: based on the area I've marked in the photo, do you think this could be what's causing the power cycling (bleep on/off)? Or does it look like the issue might lie elsewhere?

Thanks in advance for any guidance.

Yes, missing components in this area could cause the symptoms you described.

          Xbox Series X

          Good morning guys,
I am resuming an old service on an Xbox X Series that I really want to repair. I summarise what has been done because I can't find my previous post.

The Xbox initially did not turn on, no LED, no beep. Found short circuit on the 12V connector on the bottom board. Injecting 1.5V on the positive side of one of the shorted capacitors to find with the thermal camera which capacitor was shorted, no gave me useful information. The board draws 2.80A (1.5V), but from the thermal camera images I don't see any component getting hot.
I removed the coils one by...
