The bios chip must be unsoldered from the board before writing or reading..
do not use the clip, you may have errors..if you do not have anything to unsolder it with,
solder wires between the programmer and the bios chip..

I've used AS Programmer with CH341a before and it works great, it takes a little longer than the RT809F though.
Make sure it s detechted on the Hardware tab.

Not necessarily.
I've used this kind of test hook clip set from aliexpress.


They sit better on the bios chip than the usual SOP8 or SOP16 test clips because each clip has a hook that firmly grips the respective pin.
They worked perfectly without unsoldering the bios chip.

You need an SPI programmer to backup the contents of the bios chip, read some of the previous posts in this thread to get some idea. When you have the backup it can be patched.

Desoldering the chip and putting it in/on an adapter is recommended if you have the tools to desolder. If not you can try using a clip or pogo adapter, depending on the chip type. A SOP8 clip for SOP ,WSON pogo adapter for WSON chips.
