    Help with short Acer c24-760

    Following on from replacing fuse i thought i should check for shorts before powering on and luckily i did.

    The A04435 Mosfet is shorted all over. Removed from board and short has gone and out circuit is testing short

    The capacitor above (C786) is shorting to ground both sides, removed and is good out off circuit

    The pads are shorting with each other.. Followed the 8 vias to other side and dont appear too be going anywhere.

    Is that cap supposed to have continuity or the pads?

      What part number is the motherboard,is there a schematic available for it ? .Do you have a DC bench power supply .

          Bon soir dear online techies, enthusiasts, modest helpers and whomever I might have forgotten!

          Search gave me no hits so this is my first post.

          My Acer 5 Nitro mainboard had a short circuit when I tried to plugin a USB device. Some smoke rose from the port and it became super hot a that point of entry/exit. Warranty was of about a month.
          Since I am on a low budget I cannot afford to buy...
