    Biostar U8668 Pro CPU issues

(Reposted because the symptoms have changed, the original post was months old, and in the wrong section)

I have an old Biostar U8668 Pro motherboard that unfortunately doesn't seem to want to work properly. None of the caps (pretty much all OST caps) are bulged, which doesn't necessarily mean they're good.

When I power the board on with either SDRAM or DDR RAM, I get an low-pitch beep for a few seconds, then a high pitched siren, indicating CPU failure or overheating, but doesn't shut off like it used to.

What gives me hope that the board somewhat works is that if I boot it with no RAM at all, I get a solid continuous beep, indicating "no memory detected" so the BIOS at least gets far enough to initialize the RAM.

What capacitors, or components are the most likely to be bad? Just to see if I can get the board to at least POST successfully, just so I know it's not a lost cause.

VRM area capacitors are the most common to fail.
I would test the board with a different processor, maybe ypu have a bad cpu or non compatible, if you have an external programmer a bios reflash could help to discard a bad bios, also check if the board is bent specially on the chipset area, maybe the issue is caused by a bad solder.

CPU works and is compatible. (2.4 GHz Pentium 4) I'm pretty sure that the CRM capacitors are bad, because of a crappy power supply that died.

Knowing Biostar, replace all caps and it will work fine.

I had a P4M800-M7 that didn't POST until I replaced ALL CPU, AGP, PCI and RAM caps with newer caps. In my instance, VRM high was KZG, VRM low was TK (OST's lowest quality caps) and the rest were G-Luxon LZ. I replaced the high and low VRM side with Rubycons, and replaced the G-Luxon LZ with G-Luxons dated after the Teapo merger, and from a series that I was sure it would last.

Board still works to this day, but I usually try and avoid VIA chipsets and go for Intel, though some of the VIA chipsets are alright, like the 693A,KT133A and the K8T/K8M series, as well as PT800 and PM800 for Intel.
        Main rig:
        Gigabyte B75M-D3H
        Core i5-3470 3.60GHz
        Gigabyte Geforce GTX650 1GB GDDR5
        16GB DDR3-1600
        Samsung SH-224AB DVD-RW
        FSP Bluestorm II 500W (recapped)
        120GB ADATA + 2x Seagate Barracuda ES.2 ST31000340NS 1TB

          Biostar U8668 Grand power issues
          by DankEngihn
I have a Socket 478 Biostar motherboard that has some issues.

It powers up for a second or two, and shuts off. To get it to power back on, I have to unplug the power supply from the wall, and plug it back in. This alone isn't too strange of a problem, but there's something else too. I plugged in an AGP graphics card to see if it made an difference, and with the AGP card in, the CPU fan runs slower for the few seconds that it actually stays on. I know it's not the power supply, because it works fine with another board. It's not the RAM, because the computer I...

          Audio Issues - Realtek ALC3306 - Lenovo Slim Pro 7 14ARP8 - Type 83AX

Hi, trying to troubleshoot some problems with this laptop I just finished repairing which had power issues (Burnt Buck converter - SY8883DFC shorted to ground).

After repairing the above issue, I realized the following remaining problem,
Sound only comes from bottom speakers, top palmrest speakers don't work. Neither does the headphone jack (static/buzzing).
The computer recognizes headphones are connected and displays a popup in windows
Sometimes, the computer will boot up and the sound will be working fine. However, if I run intensive programs and the computer...

Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 15ACH - Ideapad 3 well known solder joint issues
          by Nagyesz
I have a Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 15ACH, which has started exhibiting the well-known issues of the Lenovo IdeaPad 3.

All stress tests run perfectly, and there are no performance issues. However, the solder joints are almost certainly starting to fail. If the top two screws on the back are not screwed in, moving the screen results in a BSOD or, in some cases, a slight artifact and freeze. This is a 2023 notebook..

How can I extend its lifespan? Could reflow help?

It has ryzen 5 5500h, rtx 2050, no soldered ram.

          Example of the artifacts:

ROG STRIX Z590-A GAMING WIFI has no POST no BEEP no diag LED
          by Ymotaqi
The motherboard does not POST and has the following symptoms:
When the power button is pressed, the fans and RGB turns on.
When the power button is pressed, the motherboard voltages 12, 5, and 3 are connected.
          The motherboard does not beep.
None of the diagnostic LEDs light up.
          USB voltage is off.
          VCORE voltage is off.
The BIOS software was downloaded from Asus site and installed using the Q FLASH button, but it made no difference.
I would appreciate it if anyone could guide me on the cause of the problem.
