Asrock Alivenfsp-vsta Should I recap it?

I have that mobo http://www.asrock.com/mb/overview.as...F6P-VSTA&s=AM2 and it has the following caps

    4 United Chemi-con KZG 1000 UF 16V (Filtering the 12V input)
3 Nichicon HM 1500 uF 6,3V made in 2008 (I don't know its function, they are close to the CPU socket)
6 OST RLX 1500 uF 6,3V in the Vcore output
The rest are Evercon LE 1000 uF 6,3V.
    The motherboard is new (2008)
I read that the OST and Evercon (GSC) are bad caps, maybe they improved as 2008?
    I need to recap it?
I notice the Vcore fluctuates a lot.
    Many thanks.

ASRock N100M, no picture no boot, but semi-alive
    by Exim
    Hi guys,
I managed to semi-kill an ASRock N100M board after updating Bios from 1.10 to 2.01. It's a zombie now, dead, but not dead.

    ASRock N100M special features:
    - CPU soldered to board, small Intel 12th gen
    - iGPU
    - four POST LEDs

Problem after updating Bios to 2.01 using the in-Bios update tool: no picture, no boot.
I am not sure anymore if it booted at least once successfully after updating the bios to 2.01, maybe not, I can't remember. I think it did not.

    Symptoms:
    - no picture/signal on any of the display connectors,...

What IC does AsRock usually use to make the PWM signals for GPU fans ?
    by MasterCap
I have an AsRock Taichi 7900xtx, and the minimum fan speed is way too high at 1000rpm, and thats with it's Quiet BIOS switch on, and me setting the fan profile as low as it goes, while on.

Now 1 thing I could do is just make some circuit to put in between the fan the the GPU, and leave the fan on all the time, but anytime the GPU is sending the PWM for min speed, I'll just send something lower and quieter.

But does anyone know what how AsRock usually sends the PWM to the fans on GPUs and mobo's? Is it from the MCU that's often near the 12V inputs and fan jack ? Or is...

    ASUS P5GC-MX motherboard recap
    by momaka
Here’s another motherboard that needed a full recap: an ASUS P5GC-MX.
This one was gifted to me some years ago by user Pentium 4, along with a few other goodies. It actually came in working order with no bulging or leaking caps. However, I noted there were United Chemicon KZG caps everywhere on the motherboard. The CPU VRM output (CPU V_core) was the only exception: it had only 2x KZG. The rest was 6x UCC TMV 4V 680 uF caps… which aren’t any good news either.

So here is what the motherboard looked like with its original caps:

XFX GeForce 6800 XT AGP [PV-T42K-UDE3] – recapping and mods
    by momaka
Aaaaand… we have more retro-PC nostalgia repairs again.
This time it's with a XFX GeForce 6800 XT AGP video card. The XFX model number is PV-T42K-UDE3.

As with many early XFX cards, crap caps are the main issue here. The first one I bought and recapped was back in 2017. I've been meaning to post about it for a long time, but never got around to it due to the card needing a better heatsink/cooler to test it fully with the recap (more on that later on.) In the meantime, I acquired a 2nd one of these cards not too long ago (February.) Not like this makes any difference. Both...

    AsRock B560 Pro4 Possible Short on +1.8VSB
    by zklgfs
    Hi,

I have an AsRock B560 Pro4 (boardview: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...pro4-schematic) that's completely dead (it doesn't even turn on the power supply when the power button is pressed or the power button pins are shorted). I do get about 3.4V on the power button pin, but 1.8VSB isn't there. The resistance to ground on the inductor PL53 is only about 0.1-0.4 Ohms. Am I correct in assuming that there must be a short...
