    Asus P4S800-MX

    Board was unstable, blue screening

    had a row of 4 chemi con caps, a long row of the skinny tall OST's and a bunch of LTEC caps

    just new the ost's were blown, after testing the only ones bad were the 4 chemi cons, look fine, but are junk

    replaced with ruby cons and all is well

    caps are green, marked KZE 16v 1200uf

      /me shakes his head in shame.

      Fortuantely, my Asus boards are using mostly rubycon capacitors, and my video card uses rubycon and sanyo capacitors. I will hopefully be able to largely survive the nuclear winter of failing capacitors.

        chemi-con KZE are junk?

        that is suprising. also most KZE i have seen are brown not green.

          My Asus A7V8X-X motherboard has them too, but no signs of them going bad. Knock on wood.

          The cap problem may also be because of overheating, chiefly if there was a Pentium 4 Prescott in there and being OC'ed.
