shuttle xpc ss59g 2.0 blown ost and g-luxon everywhere.

i got this cheap at a swapmeet with a note that said it is very unstable.
nearly every ost and g-luxon had vented.
this unit was recapped with polys anywhere i could.
btw this unit had only been in use a year according to the previous owner.
it does not run hot due to the heatpipe mounted in the rear of the case.
this sends the hot air from the cpu directly out the back rather than heating the whole case up.found no evidence of fan failure either.

Even though those are known bad caps... I still don't believe the Caps were the problem why every one vented. Had to be bad airflow and those cases are known for that. I bet the CapXons in the power supply are toasted as well which may of caused the board to be stressed too.

      this one runs fairly cool.
the psu was recapped preemptively but was ok.
btw it is running overclocked with no issues.

just got 2 more of these shoeboxes.
both have brand new psu in them and both have all the ost and most of the teapo's blown.
a bad psu in the past could be a factor in the failure.
good part is these both have p4d 920 dualcores and 2gb of corsair xms!
i went to one of my weekend jobs and swapped some gx280 boards i had recapped and they were sitting in the storage/junk room.
told the owner that they were probably repairable and had the same problem the dells had.he said that they were fed up with those boxes and wont put another dime in them.you want them before they hit the dumpster?
i am going to get the old psu's later to see if they contributed to early cap death.

LG 47LB5DF blown power supply board
                by cmlewis89
                Hi folks,

I'm new to this forum. So my trusty 17-year-old LG 47" LCD recently died. As I was booting it up, I heard a hum followed by a loud bang, sounds of pieces flying around, and loss of power to the unit. Inspecting the PSU, I saw two obvious problems: a blown thermistor (bang + flung pieces) and a visibly bulging main cap. Inspecting as many components as I could with my Fluke MM, I diagnosed that the following components on the "hot side" of the board were also bad: one of the 2 main MOSFETs, main 8A fuse, small cap (25V 47uF) connected to main caps, and a blown...
