4pin 12V with 8pin EATX ?

Guys,

Is it possible that I use 4pin12V with 8pin EATX 12V ?
I can start the mobo but suddenly off...is it because I'm using 4pins ?

Yes as its two 12v circuits going in not a paralleled port.

Help Diagnosing ASRock Taichi X570 Motherboard

Hi all! I'm a newbie to to the forum and electronics repair in general.
I picked up a nonfunctional ASRock Taichi X570 motherboard that someone threw away. My main goal is it to repair and use it. But even if it's not possible, I'd like to learn about the process.
I'd very much appreciate some guidance.

Here are the steps I've taken to diagnose the board:

I first tried powering the board without a CPU or memory. The lights turned on. As you'd expect, the board wouldn't boot.

Hoping the board worked, I bought a compatible CPU on amazon. I wanted...

Gigabyte 1660 Super OC 12V Short 8pin connector

Hello i got a card with 12V short, found an IC blown Q510, remove it short persist, found that the short is on 12V GPU, remove all the Mosfets and the short still there, i inject 1.5V to the line and i got 1A of consumption, nothing getting warm, this could be the GPU itself?...

Hello everyone. I have been reading this forum for a long time - I really appreciate the amount of very interesting materials and information in the field of electronics.

I have a problem with this configuration:
ASUS PRIME B450M-A
RYZEN 1300X (I replaced it with ATHLON 200GE - the same behavior, the processors are functional, tested on another board)

When the entire set is installed (CPU, RAM, ATX connector and 12V 8 pin CPU plug), the board starts up for a while (about 1-2 seconds), the CPU fan starts and the board turns off immediately. When I disconnect...
