Minisforum UM890 Pro pulling 0.1A at 20V with RAM installed

    Hi there,

I hope you can help me solve the problem with my Minisforum UM890 Pro. It's not booting. It pulls 0.5A at 20V with no RAM installed. That seems like a healthy current draw. The core gets the required voltage and heats up. However, when i install RAM (known good Samsung DDR5 4800 SODIMM) it pulls 0.1A at 20V and there is no voltage at the core. I tried both slots and different RAM, but the symptoms stay the same. I tried removing the BIOS-battery and pushing the reset button for > 10 seconds. I replaced a RT6228A synchronous step-down converter that was getting warm when powering on with the RAM installed. There are no damaged components, missing components, signs of liquid damage and ik can't find any shorts. Any ideas on how to troubleshoot this further?

"Could someone give me the link to the boardview of the Minisforum BD770i motherboard? I literally can't find anything from Minisforum, and I'd really like to have it so I can try to figure out why the board won't boot. Going in blind is making me lost."

    Minisforum MC560 DC in failure
    by grave_digga
Hi there. My name is Markus and this is my very first post here, so don't be to harsh on me. 😉

I own a Minisforum MC560 that worked just fine. Some days ago something in the device gone nuclear and produced magic smoke. Here is a picture of the situation:

Ignore the time stamp on the picture, i reseted my microscope a few days ago. Q32 is shorted and got so burned that it got really crusty. This is how it looks after a little cleanup. Q31 is an 8031 and it is just fine, i'll replace it anyway with a new one. The problem is Q32. I don't know what component...

A2338 Screen replacement - Clarification needed. What do you actually loose when replacing the screen with OEM Pulls?
    by AJ847.63e
    Hi All,

Just wanted to get some clarification on replacing screens on M series machines (M1,M2,M3,M1pro,M2pro,M3pro) as there is so much conflicting information out there. Some say even when using OEM pulls you lose True Tone and only that, others say you lose that and webcam, others say you lose those two and also the lid sensor will not work, others say you lose nothing as long as you use OEM pulls.
So, which one is it actually? Using original OEM pulls. That seems to be what has caused the confusion, people using cheap aftermarket than being surprised when it does not work...

    Bios Minisforum UM780 XTX
    by garretofriviaaaaa
Hello, Basically a customer tried updating his mini PC using a USB stick but it bricked the computer. I've tried flashing a new chip with a CH318A programmer using neoprogrammer and a ROM file from minisforum's website. From what I have read on the forum here, there isn't a readily available guide on how to serialize an existing bios to the motherboard. I have a dump from the original BIOS chip, I did an additional one and did the fc /b command to make sure no discrepancies were found. The machine model number is Minisforum UM780 XTX, machine serial is MC495UU78XQQMQA0089, Board Serial is F78SD784048A1050804....

Dell Inspiron 15 3520 - AC Adapter shows "Not Installed - Not Charging
    by Stanley1843
    Hello,
I bought a used Dell Inspiron 15 3520 laptop and the battery isn't charging. When I go to the BIOS setting it shows that the battery health is "excellent" but on the AC Adapter shows "not installed". I checked the pins from the power connector on the motherboard and I didn't found a short on the PS_ID pin. It dould be the charger (I don't know if this is the original) or what I have to check?...
