I wanted to save this thing from E-waste ... I helped a neighbour with their Dell PC , it had a blown visably blown VRM causing a short on the 12V EPS ..
I replaced this VRM which fixed the short but, the high side VRM's keep blowing , seemingly the same two phases .. I replaced the low side mosfets on the respective blown phases . Though still the High side VRMS are blowing ..
After a few minutes one of the four phases will get extremely hot , then blow ..
I purchased replacement VRMS both High Side (72T02GH) and Low side (86T02GH). Pictured below , I just removed the last blown high side VRM and temporarily removed the nearby capcitor to check
I have stabbed around the board , there is no shorted caps . All nearby resistors seem fine too ..
I think the picture below is the VRM controller (NCP5395T), this chip is available on AliExpress. Would it be worth buying and swapping it out
