I am currently working on my Crosshair VIII Hero mainboard on which a GPU short occured after which the mainboard would not turn on again. I suspected the VRM Controller (IR35201) and soldered it off. After that the board turned on again, obviously without providing voltage to CPU etc. I soldered a new IR35201 on it but it seems like the board still don't want to boot correctly. LEDs etc. turn on normally and after I press start button the power supply turns on fully and stays on, so I guess no shorts. Also nothing gets really hot. The error code shows code 00 and I measured VCPU and it was 0V. So I it seems something is wrong with the CPU Voltage supply. Since I changed the IR35201 I tested some ports around it. There is some serial data at SM_DIO so I guess superIO chip also works? But the PWM pins only stay at solid ~3V, no switching or anything, sense pins stay low and it seems the IR35201 is just not turning on the VRMs. Is there anything I might check or is the IR35201 dead again? I read its very temperature sensitive, might I have grilled it again? I would like to check everything before considering chaning the chip out again since its not very cheap and I have already ruined the board around it (ripped of pins i have reconstructed with wire )
