BTW, I managed in the meantime to reprogram the main VRM on my ASUS Maximus XII Hero with the USB005 adapter, taking the registers from an vrm chip from an second working board. It works like it should, so this adapter with the IR software, although the chip is an ASUS ASP1405I, works perfectly. The chip was not new and was taken from another ASUS board, as far as I remember an ASUS X99 board.

So the repair method is verified and can be used by anybody having similar issue with VRM. The contents of the registers for both ASP1405I chips on this board I have, if anybody needs. Just pm me.

Well i switched out the voltage regulator and now the voltage is correct and everything but the chip still won't communicate correctly. I get a device on address 0x08 and 0x70 and 0x71 (which seems to be the default addresses for the chip) but it doesn't have a proper device ID or product ID. So I guess either the chip is broken (again.. 😭..) or its a chinese fake chip...I don't know if I can switch it out with another one again since the board is pretty damaged on its socket and it was a hell of work to get every pin connected on the current one (including fixing pins with wire etc).
Well at least according to your success it SHOULD be possible...

EDIT: After digging around some more I think the internal memory got damaged because of the overvoltage. Since the chips is responding to commands and the addresses seem to be correct I think the chip itself is ok but the memory is broken since if I read out the individual values like MFR_ID or IC_DEVICE_ID some of the values seem to be correct and some just report 0x00, so I guess thats the problem the software doesn't recognize the device since device_id etc. is just 0x00. Well, I try to resolder another chip...

Thanks for the report. It would be nice if you could post the register dump here, it may encourage others to do the same for other boards.

Here you are. I added also the board design file, but this is also automatically generated by the IR soft.
There are 2 APS1405I chips on this board at addresses 20 & 22, the configs are different, so they are not interchagable.
The configs are as taken as snapshot of the powered board in stand-by mode.

Use it at your own risk.


Recommendation:

After applying first start the board w/o CPU and measure the VCORE voltage if it is not too high or low, should be slightly above 1V (1.05-1.10V).

If you have a cheap CPU first test the VRM with this cheap CPU,
or
if you have some partially broken but running CPU, use first this partially broken CPU.

After this is OK, test it with a high core CPU.

Register @ Infineon, download the Infineon Development Center Launcher, and inside the Launcher PowIRCenter.

I mean the .exe file for key generation, it might not be secure, so use it on a physically separated machine, which can be deleted after use. This kind of software often contains some maliciuos software.

Got it friend. On the telegram group you sent they have the untouched program, and then some posted keys for 100 years.. men this group is gold. Thank you. The bad thing is that is only in russian, and have to copy and paste the text, but it's worth. Its my first infineon flashing, bought a motherboard, with a R35201 burned, replace it also replace the dual mosfet that was in short, now the board starts, NB fan full speed, CPU_LED on, and cpu cold like ice. I then found out the infineon chie need to be programmed, so I got the firmware, and bought myself a C8051F340 board + C8051F Downloader, looked around and Im about 70% confident I can flash it with the usb005 firmware, they attempt to flash the board. Just to confirm I understand the steps to flash it, if I follow the steps I made, it it the correct way?

On the Motherboard VU1(ir35201)

Connect SCL to the VC11 (pin 25 of the ir35201)
GND to any ground pin
Connect the PSU 24pin and the cpu power pins
Turn on the board

OpenPower Gui or IR PowIRCenter

Scan Full Address Range
Click on the card on the left
Click on the multi device programmer button (flame)
Click on select configuration and select the file "IR35201_MSI_MS-7C37_AMD_X570_8n2_RevA_AC_2019-01-15.txt"
Then check the trim and user boxes
Click on Program and Verify
With a little luck everything passes

Hi, I got the board running, thank you for the firmware. I´m now installing windows, how Do I test if all the cpu phases work fine? I runned OCCT CPU and then Limpack few times about 2 hours, so far no fire I tested with a Ryzen 1200. Should I up the game and put my Ryzen 7 5800X3D in?

Hi, by software its not possible, you need a scope and measure the Gates of the mosfets and the choke pin at the mosfet side to see if a phase is beeing controlled, and if the mosfets work.

You need to do it when cpu has some moderate load, as the vrm controller may reduce the working phases under low load.

Without the scope, On heavy load, shouldn't the coils have voltages? In any case the IR35201 that I change is driving the IR3598 that acts as doublers. Wi the powircentre, checking loop 1 or loop 2? or maybe checking with the HWinfo 64, there are allot of sensors CPU Voltage, CPU power, SOC voltage, SOC power...or maybe with a thermal camera, check how the could are getting hot?

You need an oscilloscope to be sure that all the phases (before the inductors) are switching properly. With a multimeter you can only see steady DC voltage that'll show up on all phases regardless of them working or not (because at DC an inductor is a wire) so you cannot know if one is not working properly.

Oscilloscope. Just a cheap multimeter can verify the phase work or not. Yes you cant check for the signal but can check if the phase have frequency. Frequency = running phase.

I would not trust such measurement, there is a high probability the multimeter will measure some induced parasitic frequencies, this is not a reliable verification method. Nethertheless it would be even better to measure the AC voltage, instead of frequencies, provided the DMM has the capability to measure high frequencies up to ca 2Mhz.

BTW, there are already quite cheap scopes in DMM format available, you do not need here a 100Mhz scope, 2-5 MHz is totally suficcient.

Another reason to use a scope is the possibility to see the signal form. It happens that signal form of the VRM signals is incorrect, and thats the reason for PWM failure/instability.

I think I´ll buy a scope, I never used one although I fix computer, maybe is the time to explore this as well. I can get a fnirsi DSO 510 (10MHz) for about €50 or I can get a bench one like a fnirsi 1014d (100MHz supposably) for about €130 or I can get a hanmatek dos1102 (110MHz). What scope you recommend?

Anyways I run the status on the IR PowIRCenter and i get all the 4 phases on loop one and on loop 2 the 2 phases. is just 4x2 because the IR32501 ony has 4x2, it has other 5 IR3598 on the back that double the phases.

Ok, I found one I like, its a Hantek DSO2C10 a 100MHz bandwidth 1Gb/s sampling with 8MB memory and can decode RS232 / UART 、 I2C 、 SPI 、 CAN 、 LIN. At €250 Its a bit more than the others and it have decent reviews.
