Gigabyte HD5870 - not detected by ATiflash, cold GPU, no voltage past the VRMs

    Hi guys,

I've just bought this Gigabyte GV-R587UD-1GD cheap (10€) with all it's packaging but of course it's not working. It's in perfect condition, no damage anywhere that I can see. Here are the problems :
    - according to the seller, it never woke up from sleep mode
    - screen doesn't turn on so no signal
    - the GPU remains cold,
    - atiflash -i gives a "No Adapter Found" error so the card is not detected (I had some non working cards that were detected by atiflash)
    - the voltage seem normal up until I check it past the VRMs where I don't get any voltage anywhere on the board. Both PCI-E connectors are plugged via adapters.

I had similar symptoms with an HD5850 that I repaired earlier this year and it's still running strong in my computer, but a component was broken on this one (a small 5 pin component located near the PCI-E connector). The same compoent on the HD5870 seem intact.

What else would you check ?

    Thanks !
