    Asus A8V Deluxe 2.00 Recap

Hi people, i would recap this mobo, found in an old office system.
When i try it, the mobo don't want to take bios configuration and it don't find the sata disk plugged, if i enter in bios and i save the configuration, the mobo find the disk and all right. I put a new CR2032 battery and I flash the newest bios (i find a very early), the mobo don't want to find the disk after a shutdown, after hours of correct works. i must ctrl-alt-del to let the mobo find sata disk correctly.
I would try to recover it with a good recap.
    The mobo have

    20 x 820uF 6.3v FJ
    4 x 1000uF 16v KZG
    6 x 1500uF 6.3 KZG
    9 x 100uf 6.3 (that i don't think to recap)

I can't find Panasonic FJ and Nippon Chemicon KZG Caps, i can find:

    Panasonic FC,FM,FR
    Rubycon YK,YXA,YXF,YXH,YXJ,ZL,ZLH,ZLJ
    Nic Components NRSZ NRZJ
    Nichicon BT,BX,PS,PW,PX,VR,VY

From what it sounds like, it seems that your hard disk is at fault here... check if the bios has a hard disk spinup delay or such. It may just be that your hard disk takes a little too long to spin up for the board to recognize it.

None of those series are adequate as a replacement...

        4 x 1000uF 16v KZG
        6 x 1500uF 6.3 KZG
I am assuming these are 10mm in width, correct? If so, here are the replacements:
        1) https://www.badcaps.net/store/produc...roducts_id=174
        2) https://www.badcaps.net/store/produc...roducts_id=147

Leave the Panasonic FJ and the small 100uF caps alone.

Re: Asus A8V Deluxe 2.00 Recap

The 820uF shouldn't be aproblem for two reasons:

            1) They're Panasonic "FJ" series... FJ is a reliable series for the most part, and they usually do not need replacing.
            2) They're not in the VRM, which means that there shouldn't be a lot of ripple passing through them, and more importantly, not as much heat as the VRM caps.

The "KZG" series are completely unreliable, even when they are not used in a VRM, so these should be replaced no matter what, especially in your case.

You should check the PSU as well.

Those 1500uF 6.3v KZG caps are probably 8mm Diameter. If so, use https://www.badcaps.net/store/produc...roducts_id=136 to replace them.

The 820uF caps shouldn't need replacing, as mockingbird said, but if you had some extra time to kill, then https://www.badcaps.net/store/produc...roducts_id=163 would be an appropriate replacement.
I love putting bad caps and flat batteries in fire and watching them explode!!

No wonder it doesn't work! You installed the jumper wires backwards

ASUS ROG STRIX B550-I GAMING - M.2_2 port not working correctly with SAMSUNG SSD980 1TB NVME SSD
                by DynaxSC
                Hi,

I have an really very weired issue with ASUS ROG STRIX B550-I GAMING.

Some NVME (PCIe) SSD's are not working correctly in the second M.2 socket. An example of it is the SAMSUNG SSD980 1TB NVME SSD.
Some other NVME (I have only smaller ones) disk do work without any problem, also SAMSUNG disks, eg an MZVPV128HDGM-0000.

The behaviour is also really very strange, i.e.:
                • The disk shows always up in BIOS - so it is recognized, so far so good
                • POST-ing with this disk with fresh Windows 24H2 installation (done in the M.2_1 socket) in the M.2_2 socket
                ...
