Re: Asus A8V Deluxe 2.00 Recap
From what it sounds like, it seems that your hard disk is at fault here... check if the bios has a hard disk spinup delay or such. It may just be that your hard disk takes a little too long to spin up for the board to recognize it.

Re: Dell Optiplex GX270 -- Nasty surprises after success
Ha ha
1. why is a cheap shot like this necessary? I know you aswell from there and honestly you don't seem to be in any position to do so. (Also what the hell are you talking about?)
2. The capacitors are all from Rubycon. MBZ and YXG.
3. I double checked that the joints are not cold.
4. I request a moderator delete the above post. I am not stupid....

Dell Optiplex GX270 -- Nasty surprises after success
Hey!
Three GX270
ALL with failed caps
All got recapped by me
all not working correctly...
First board: ALL caps in the row behind the heatsink leaking. 3 other caps leaking.
Replaced them all. -> Board would not turn on. Turns out if one of the caps was installed, that rail shorted. Hooked it up using wires -> Works not!
Tedious hours of testing later -- broken trace found, fixed and hey presto: Works! A nice 3.2GHZ HT even.
But then, surprise surprise: The southbridge...

Re: VIA Apollo 133A AGP4x stuffs
to unbury this thread
This issue was indeed a problem of chipset and mobo combo. My new board ASUS CUV4X-D has same problem wiht not automatically doing agp4x, but with rivatuner forcing agp4x mode, it works just fine!

Re: Gigabyte GA-8ST667 bad caps
Heh :P
IIRC, tomshardware tested some SiS 6xx/7xx chipsets and it was able to even be better than its Intel P4 counterparts like 845/865 or something like that. I like SiS, it's affordable and gets the job done.

Re: ASUS A8V won't post?
A8V seem to be failing a lot. There are a lot of them on ebay (as "defective"), might be a relation.
cheers!

Some ol' GeForce card
Yoo....
Got 3 boxes + 5 machines for free yesterday...
A graphics card that looked nice was in it, but it has a blown cap... missing a DVI->VGA adapter right now to test it.
Lookuing forward to replacing the cap soon...

Samsung Syncmaster 713n problem
Hi, I have a Syncmaster 713N I got for free, and well, it actually kind-of works. Whjen I have no cable plugged in, it will go all "Check input cable" or something like that. But when I put in the cable (with working output, checked on 3 other monitors) it doesn't do anything except have a black screen.
Any ideas?
Cheers,
Oerg

Re: Another Sacon FZ victim ...!
Well I know TAYEH aren't good at all.
However I do not have any money right now and it was the only cap that's fitting. All my rubies are too tall
However I'll get some new caps soon (getting me money on November 1st :P)
Cheers!

Another Sacon FZ victim ...!
Hey...
So I got a new graphics card just to go with the time... my old Axle GeForce 8600GT has served me well for 3 years and 3 months.. but it wouldn't cut it. Needed more performance, so I got me a bargain: a barely used Radeon 4850 from a friend for EUR 50.
I was wanting to use the old GT in a seondary PC. So I wanted to renew the cooling paste. Unscrewed the heatsink and there she was:
Gonna replace it with a ruby YXG 1500uF
cheers!...
