Bad tocon cap, iogear kvm. Brand to replace, where to buy online?

My iogear kvm blew a tocon cap. 100uF, 16v, radial. I'm looking to replace all 8 of the caps on the board - any advice as to brand I should buy and where I might buy them online? I live in Wisconsin USA. Thank you!

I'll post a pic of the blown cap for fun in the near future : )

The USA has many vendors you can get caps from. You can buy some from the Badcaps forum admin (Topcat) or you can purchase caps from Digikey USA or Mouser.

100uf caps don't fail very often (very rarely) but P11198-ND on Digikey is a great replacement for the failed Tocon 100uf 16V capacitors.

The KVM is an iogear miniview ultra 8-port, ps/2, rack-mount. And thanks for the advice! I had been looking at the digikey site but was unsure as to which 100uf I ought to purchase. I'll check out mouser as well for comparison shopping. I wonder how much Topcat would charge - it would be cool to support the cause : ) Thanks again!

Topcat usually has caps that are 1000uf and higher, since he's mainly in the motherboard recapping section. For 100uf caps I guess he wouldn't be happy with supplying them. Mouser is also a good source for Americans. Look for cap brands such as Nichicon, Panasonic, or United Chemi-Con.

Thanks for the tip Newbie2. I was wondering about Topcat because after checking out the site, it did indeed seem that the caps (and kits) are focused on mainboards. I just placed my order with digikey for the part number you mentioned - Panasonic. I'll post the results once I've finished replacing the caps. Also the pic - the cap blew nicely, the cap of the cap (ha!) totally flew off and was rolling around inside the case : )

BEST 505 Vs Mechanic Brand Reballing Balls with Lead
              by Stanley1843
              Hello,
has anyone use these Brands of solder balls? The brand BEST writes on the label of the jar the specs of the solder balls instead of the Mechanic brand. I beleive that BEST brand must be more professional (in labeling at least) but I have never try one of them so I would like your opinion. By the way I hardly can I find the Mechanic brand in aliexpress (the only where I found was lead free solder balls) and on ebay these that I found are approximately15USD per jar. If you know any other trusted brand of solder balls please tell me.

This happened last Saturday and today I finally had time this morning before I went to work to replace two non brand capacitors

I will let you be the judge weather or not these are bad or not according to the blue ESR meter that I am using

I am comparing them to a brand new one that I installed

The display came back on and the programming was not lost which I was surprised by I would have thought that when the display went blank that so did the memory as well

I going to let it run for several days before I remount back on the wall next to the...
