    Linksys WRT54G V7 Seems Bricked / Faulty

My school pass me a WRT54G V7 Router to do a recap, before recapping, I started to test the router, it seems dead, power LED just glow dim and the other Ethernet Ports were also dim.

Seems a tough guy for this now.
read in the google that it may really bricked for now, the LAN ports aren't functioning now, when connected to a LAN cable, there is no Network Connection.

At least the older version had the power led blinking, and still having chance to revive, now network port gives no connection!

folks had any idea whats went wrong?

    thanks in advance

    open the box and look...

Su'scon capacitors... which i know is also a junk.

Get rid of the su'scon and then see what happens.

seems like someone tried to flash a different firmware on it (like OpenWrt, DD-WRT, FreeWRT, HyperWRT, Tomato, ...) and failed at it...

had something similar with a Fritz!Box Fon WLAN i got for free...
firmware update failed, power led dim and all other leds almost invisible glowing..
the guy even managed to kill the firmware-loader, so the emergency firmware update didn't work either..
      bricked..

dunno about that linksys though (if there's a possibility to reflash it allthough it seems to be dead)

edit: umm.. yeah.. try to replace those shit'scons first like pcbonez said
