    Wireless Config error!

    hi guys need help, i can't get wireless secure wep at all,i had it but one of my laptops did not get the wireless in linux so i tried to do other secure settings but now i can't get it at all
    i do a router factory default and then i add the secure #'s and apply i get this error check attachment.
    this is a Toshiba WRC_1000 connected to TG862 Aris

    Probably because you're adding a value that's not a mac address.

          look at the example above where you entered the data.

          you forgot the : between each pair of characters.

            do you mean exe: 12:45:78: and son on?
            and when i config on the Pc i have to put same thing?

              Yes, you need to add the double colons for every mac address, to add multiple mac addresses you add a comma at the end of each mac address with no spaces.

                  Are you trying to set up a whitelist of mac addresses ?
                  If so then enable Access Control Mac Address and enter the mac address of all of the wireless devices. Whilst a little more secure than just using wep, it's fairly easy to subvert, and a pain to keep adding mac addresses every time you want to connect a new device. You will disable 802.1x and distribute wep key.

                    i don't know the difference,i just want the easier one and simple one,i've been trying to make a secure wep trying different #s different config and get nothing i have to keep the open connection otherwise get no wireless on my old linux and win Xp computers,

                      Disable 802.1x and i believe the page will change enabling you to set the wep key.
