Is this forum thread completely dead? Not even a welcome message, from anyone? Weird...

Hi guys, I'm new to the forum (been lurking for a while). Hope this finds you well.

So I have a Samsung T240 with a TM-10160 / NY0902BCT inverter transformer exhibiting the "2 seconds to black" issue. I just measured secondaries S1&S2 at 870 Ohms and S3&S4 at 590 kOhms (yes, that's KiloOhms).
I guess I should order a new transformer, do you guys have any idea where I could get a proper one? Does the code written on the 2nd line (NY0902BCT) matter? I have found a few online with that code having different values.

    Many thanks!

Good afternoon. I have a monitor Samsung T240 with power supply JP-54155A, REV 1,0 from 2008.03.17
    Burned:
    Q101-7N65C
    R103 - 0.37 Ohm
    D103
R19 - 10кОм, face value found in the photos of the forum
IC101 - I do not know which one.
Tell me where to download the scheme or the name of the chip.
Attaching photo. Thank you very much in advance. Attaching photo.

Here are now some pictures from the main board .
Pictures are not really clear enough for trouble shooting ( probably not enough natural light)

I have measured the resistance of the secondary inverter coils:
That one nearer to the AC plug has 880 Ohm, the other one 930 Ohm (the inverter still on board).
That looks to be your problem- they should be within 3% .I usually end up buying from ebay China - takes a long time but a lot cheaper.
FIRST desolder the transformer and test again off the board..

How to check the CCFLs lamps?
You can buy ccfl lamp testers - see the lcdparts.net or if you have a working monitor of a similar size you can do some tests by just changing the leads.

How do you get access to the CCFLs in a proper way???
I dont know - all monitors are slightly different - try youtube

Is it possible to check the inverter board by using other CCFLs from a different brand display?
Yes same as above - should be similar size ie 15 inch and 24 inch not good
19 inch and 24 inch - ok for a 5 minute test. 22 inch and 24 inch should be fine. You do not need to remove the bulbs - just change the leads to substitute bulbs one at a time to see if they stay lit.

I use an old laptop panel - smashed but lights are ok.

No Power to the board, set your meter to ohms 2000 and test S1 to S2 and S3 to S4. and post results.

Thank you so much for the fast reply:
    - the part # of the inverter is TM-10160 / TNE 0913DT
    - the board and it's parts look all like brand new - now burns, no Deformation, no colour Change or dirt.
Looking forward to hearing soon again from you

Only by using a spare lamp ( Monitor with good lamp?) or build a test lamp.

Having the same "2 seconds then black" problem with my T240, I want to ask if there is a possibility to check the Inverter coils as long as the inverter is still on baord?

Is there futher a possibility to check between Inverter/caps problem and a problem with the lamps ?

Caps, inverter and board itselve does not show any sign of failure.

Thank you very much for assistance.

    Hi,

I have T240, but I'm missing the value and voltage for :
    C109
    C114
    C118

In the first post picture i could see C109 is 47uF 50 V

I replaced all the capacitors but The problem appear again three days after, so I think it is that i used bad value for these three...

    Thanks for your help

I replace whith a ccfl to led kit , and it works !!! for a long time I hope ...
    Hi there!
Bringing up the tread again hoppfully for some answer from you.

I have the same problem on my T220HD monitor.
Checked all capacitors and it looks good.
I have checked all the voltage both on mainboard and the other board and it.s ok.
Checked the ccfls and the all lights up in 2 second and then go out, checked them on same connector.
It must be the transformer on the power board.

Where did you buy your led conversion set and do you have some instruction on how to change it.

I had the same problem (switch off after a few seconds) ;swapping with a CCFL of recovery I finally found that it was the top CCFL (CN304) : during disassembly I overview the wire was stripped and insulation damaged .

    Samsung Syncmaster 740BF repair
    by soopacrucial
    Hi folks,

I'm new here and was wondering whether you might be kind enough to give me some advice on troubleshooting the following problem:

Quite a few years ago now, a couple of years from new, my Samsung Syncmaster 740BF LCD monitor starting playing up by making a buzzing noise and then the display would go blank. I seem to remember the blue power led would also go off when this happened but that I'm not 100% sure of. By pressing the power button I do remember I could at first get it working again but eventually the problem would come back. At the time I had read about...

Samsung UN40H5003 boot loop every ~8 seconds
    by eigma
Hi, I rescued a Samsung UN40H5003AF (H = 2014 FHD) from the curb. Symptoms are: standby (red) light comes on, stays on for 8 seconds, flickers off, then comes back on, and the cycle continues.

    Service manual: https://www.electronica-pt.com/esque...is-u8la-71272/

SMPS board: checked voltages, all seem normal (A13V = 12.8V, UD = 3.3V, PWM_BLU = 0.77V, PS_OnOff = 5.5V). Remove 10p cable to main board -> backlight comes on. I think this means SMPS board and backlight are good.
