    Missing resistor? Viewsonic VP930B

I have a couple of Viewsonic VP930B monitors. I noticed that the power supply for the one that works has a 4.7K resistor. The power supplies that failed prematurely did not have this resistor.

Do you think the premature failure of the power supplies has anything to do with this missing resistor?

The VP930B power supplies all look the same with the exception of this missing resistor!

    Thanks much!

What was the nature of the failure?

I didn't dig into what the failure(s) were, the monitors just wouldn't fire up. Each of the bad power supplies had some bad caps which I replaced. I went out to Fry's yesterday and picked up a 5 pack of the resistors and planned on installing them this weekend to see if they brought the supplies back to life...

I looked over the power supplies to see if they were any different than the ones that didn't have the resistor. I didn't see any difference between them...

        Xiaomi mi 9T missing resistor
        by badcap111
Hi, while trying to replace a broken screen connector on the motherboard, I knocked off a resistor next to the connector, and the resistor vanished. I have tried to find out the value of the resistor by looking at the schematics, but I cannot find the value. The ID of the resistor, or what you should call it, is R6400.

I don't know if the resistor is necessary for the phone to function, and the connector is still not soldered on to motherboard. I have contacted Xiaomi and asked them if they know the value, but they want a proof of purchase, which I don't have.

        Is...

Missing resistor on BQ ILIM pin. DA0P5JMB6D0
        by liquidzorch
Hello. I can't find the schematics anywhere for this motherboard, does anyone have one, and can give me the resistor value for the BQ728H missing in pic below? I already read the dadsheet, and this resistor value is calculated, so I can't just go with whats in the "typical" diagram.

On a second note, could this resistor cause it to only boot with the battery and not the charger? It boots fine with a charged battery, but will not turn on with the charger (nor charge). The 19v does not get past the first mosfet, it recieves pulses to turn on, but something is preventing it....

Dell 2209WA - power supply - Fusible Resistor replacement
        by jinu_j
        Hi

I am trying to repair an ancient Dell 2209WA Monitor which suddenly shut off with a pop sound. On investigation found that one of the fusible resistors had blown. Further investigation identified multiple components as faulty because of which the fusible resistor blew. Please refer the attached circuit diagram showing the components that were found to be damaged.

        1. FR950 - blown fusible resistor - 0.2 Ohm 1W
        2. Q950 - shorted Q950 MOSFET - 650V 10A N Channel Mosfet
        3. R835 - Blown Resistor - 20KOhm SMD resistor
        4. D930 - Shorted Schottkey Diode...
