    NEC MultiSync LCD1770V

    Hi all,

First time posting here - my Westinghouse LCM22W2 recently white screen of deathed on me, this site helped a lot... I hope to post pictures on how to fix it once I get by memory stick duo converter..

Anyway, I picked up this lcd1770v, but it really stumps me. It powers on for a sec, displays fine for a second and then turns off (LED orange). I checked capacitors, all seem good, they are nichion HD series.. C930 seems to be susepct due to discoloration on circuit board - capacitance checks out OK but I don't have a ESR meter or a replacement 470uF @ 25V on hand. I suspect that the transformers (T901, T902) are blown maybe, voltage not constant and protection mode activated, but (1) I have no idea what a suitable replacement is, (2) nor do I have a means to test it...

Anyone have any experience with this monitor? Power Supply is NP777G, seems to be used in a bit of NEC 17" monitors.

Yeah, exactly. I'm going to try to find an inverter to test the CCFLs to double check if they are working fine...

Take a look at the 4 CCFL bulbs, two on top and two on the bottom. If the ends of the bulbs are black they may on the way out and tripping a safety.

Be very careful when you check the bulbs, the layers of LCD screen itself tend to shift when checking / replacing the bulbs.

Also, if you need bulbs, I know where to get all 4 CCFL for around $15.00

That information would be nice to have.

            Hi Bill,

            http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...=STRK:MEWNX:IT

The bulbs came out of a NEC LCD1760V, but will work as replacements for all NEC1770**. I used these CCFL myself to repair a LCD1770GX that I found on the street. Also, the seller says that the bulbs are used, but they are in very good shape with no black ends. Hope this helps…

Bought from the lady before. Inverters, mostly. Good stuff.
