    Dell E173FPf fixed

This Dell E173FPf had no power at all.
I checked the output of the power supply, no voltage. The output rectifier diode was found shorted.
I replaced it with MBRF10H100CT but it still had no power. The SMPS controller wasn't turning on. The VCC voltage of the controller was stuck at 5.6V so it was too low.
I replaced the startup capacitor, made no changes.
I then replaced the controller SG6841SZ itself and sure enough, it worked. VCC of the controller is now at 15.8V.

Dell E6400 PT434 type Battery Charging Stuck at 1%. Battery Pinouts?
    by Bowline
My question pertains to understanding the control circuity inside a Dell PT434 type battery used in Dell E6400, E6410 and other Dell notebooks?

Does anyone have a circuit diagram for the inside of a Dell PT434 battery and/or a description of how the control lines work to control this battery?

My reason for asking is I have a battery which I cannot get to charge beyond 1% in a Dell E6410 or E6400.
The LED bar graph charge indicator on the battery shows one LED lighted when the info button is pressed.
I have tried multiple different Dell power adapters. My Dell...

Seeking Dell G15 Motherboard ICs for Embedded LED Controller (UEL1 and UEL2)
    by NotEnough
    Hello everyone,

I'm working on a repair for my Dell G15 motherboard (model GDL5L) and need two specific ICs to restore the functionality of the Embedded LED Controller (ELC). The missing components are labeled as UEL1 and UEL2 in the schematic, and they're both critical for LED control and system signaling. Here are the details:

    1. UEL1

    • Part Number: SA0000AWJ70

    • Model: STM32F070CBT6TR_LQFP48_7X7

    • Function: This microcontroller manages system signaling, power management, and SPI...

Any info on PWB-C847 touch controller board (Dell 5289)?
    by jtomes123
Hey guys, i’ve bought a screen from Dell 7280 with a usb touch controller, but I have received one from Dell 5289. This one uses the Wacom PWB-C847 (pic below) , I am looking to gather as much info as possible before I start poking at it.

What I found so far is that it uses I2C-HID and USB for communication and those should be available through the testpoints on the board.

Goal is to get the screen working with my Framework 13 motherboard through eDP (that part is relatively easy). And get touch and pen support, in order to build a nice and powerful tablet.

Dell XPS 15 9500 Pd Controller for 2 USB C
    by Kudeta
    Hello everyone!

Do you know if the pd controller for a XPS 15 9500 (the one for the 2 usbc ports) has to be reprogrammed when changed?

    Thank you!

Dell Inspiron 5590 Board 18778-1 no charging, charging not possible
    by master3112
I would like to share my experience about charging issues with Dell power supplies with the tech community. I am working on a Dell Inspiron 5590, Mainboard 18778-1 with charging problems. The device can be switched on and works so far, only the message appears at startup:

Alert! The AC power adapter wattage and Type cannot be determined. The battery may not change. The System will adjust the performace to match the power available.

The power supply unit is not recognized in the Bios and the charging process is set to "idle". I use original Dell battery, type...
