    Dell 1908FPt

    Hello all,

First post here of probably many other problems that I will encounter!

I picked up a computer/monitor/keyboad/mouse from the community ewaste can.

Everything except for the monitor works, which is why it was probably placed in the recycle.

First two pictures attached are the symptom, a flickering headache inducing display that has horizontal lines and a slight double ghost image that is offset down the screen. Display is flickering and shakey.

I have opened it up following a youtube video but all of my capacitors look decent.
From reading through other threads here my only guess is to remove the capacitors and replace them.
    caps on the board are:
    6x 330uf 35v
    4x 1000uf 16v
    2x 470uf 35v
    1x 220uf 35v

    Anyone have suggestions or thoughts?

    Thanks!

Bud, is there a way to test for a bad LCD panel?

What causes an LCD panel to go bad? Physical trauma?

Could it be bad/old capacitors that are not within their limits anymore?

      Thanks for the help!

"Bud, is there a way to test for a bad LCD panel?" Try this panel with another monitor that uses the same model of the LCD panel.
There are electronics parts in the LCD panel assembly that can go bad. Liquid spill into the panel can cause damage, etc.
