    Dell e177fpc Monitor backlight issue

This is one of those 2 seconds 2 black problems.

The monitor will power up, but the display is only sort of bright on the right side top and bottom (if I remember correctly) the test box appears then the monitor goes black. It does not make any noises that I can hear when it happens.

there are 5 rubycon caps, 3 elites, 2 TL's, and the big one is a hermei.

None of the caps are swollen or leaking. there is a large scorch mark in the center of the board, The scorch marks seem to be caused by 2 transistors and one mosfet.

An inspection of the component side of the board shows no cracked or burned components, the fuse has continuity.

The back side of the board when examined under my lit magnifying glass, I cannot find any cold/cracked solder joints, or any burned or broken surface mount parts.

I would like to fix it, but only if I can with what I can scrounge. Meaning I do not want to spend any money on it. I have a stock of capacitors, resistors, and a small pile of boards pulled from other monitors.

I have not done anything other than open it up and look it over. I can post better pics tomorrow if needed. recommendations?

Do you have spare back lights hook them up see if they light up completely. If they do and stay on you have a bad backlights. Do you have an ESR meter ? you do know bad caps don't have to be swollen.

well this explains why I did not seem to get a response. When I created the post it did not subscribe me to the thread.

So I parted the monitor out. Oh well, I plan on maybe using the display in another dell monitor with pressure defects in the LCD.

Dell G3 17 3779 Weird power cycling and shutdown/restart issue
        by SuperJames
This one's a weird one, and still unsolved despite it having gone back to Dell once.

        Specs

i7-8750H, GTX 1060 Max Q, 500GB SSD & Seagate 7mm 1TB HDD. 17.3 IPS screen. This has the fingerprint reader in the power button.

        Backstory

I bought this from eBay, from a wallpapering shop. £650 in 2020 which was a good price considering it's a gaming laptop. Physically it's in perfect shape, apart from the hinge mounts on the palmrest failing in the time I've had it (I have a new palmrest for it). The usual thin plastic crap modern build quality!...

Dell E6400 PT434 type Battery Charging Stuck at 1%. Battery Pinouts?
        by Bowline
My question pertains to understanding the control circuity inside a Dell PT434 type battery used in Dell E6400, E6410 and other Dell notebooks?

Does anyone have a circuit diagram for the inside of a Dell PT434 battery and/or a description of how the control lines work to control this battery?

My reason for asking is I have a battery which I cannot get to charge beyond 1% in a Dell E6410 or E6400.
The LED bar graph charge indicator on the battery shows one LED lighted when the info button is pressed.
I have tried multiple different Dell power adapters. My Dell...

Dell Inspiron 3480 All in One corrupt Bios issue: reaches Dell logo and stops
        by computerbacon79
The Dell Inspiron 3480 I own (the all in one, not the laptop) is not wanting to turn on at all. It goes right to a dell logo, but it stays there forever with no other information on the screen. Holding the automatic Bios repair key combo (ctrl+esc) that should let it read a recovery file off a USB drive gets stuck on a black screen and does nothing. No amount of resetting anything so far has worked, and Dell's own support downloads have not really helped. Ive tried another BIN file I found online using my CH341A, and this got me slightly more, that time it displayed a loading bar that never moved...

Dell Latitude 3510 Overheating & Fan Control Issue – Need Help

Dell Latitude 3510 (Intel Core i7-10510U) CPU Overheating

        Issue Description:
        1. CPU Overheating to 100°C
          • When I start the laptop from a cold state, it takes about a minute to reach temps around 80-90-100°C, and CPU thermal throttling triggers.
          • When the CPU fan is running at full speed (by disconnecting PWM and TACH cables), CPU temperature stays around 50-60°C.
          • However, when the fan is connected normally to the motherboard, it does not kick in at high temperatures.
          • I also noticed a few times that the fan kicked in for a very short time, but it does not stay on consistently.

Dell G15 5515 RGB Keyboard Not Detected (Compatible Keyboard, Possible BIOS/EC Issue?)
        by NotEnough
        Hi everyone,

I'm working on a Dell G15 5515 (Ryzen 7 5800H, RTX 3050 Ti) and recently installed a compatible 4-zone RGB keyboard and controller (for Dell G15 5510/5511/5515 models). While the keyboard functions for typing, the RGB lighting is not detected by Alienware Command Center (AWCC), which displays “No AlienFX devices found.”

        What I've Tried So Far:
        • Reseated the cables.
        • Reinstalled AWCC and AlienFX services.
        • Attempted BIOS downgrade but no improvement.
        • Inspected ribbon cables for damage.
        • Explored the possibility of BIOS or
