    ASUS MW221 image problem

Got this one for <20 bucks. Preventive recap with adding mising caps on PSU did not help. There are NCC KY caps on signal board, measured OK. Does not seem to bad bad joint between TCon adn panel, I tried pressing it when it was showing this with no change.

No idea really. Is it TCon? Signal board?

Just an idea: did you see if there is a reset to factory default in the on screen menu (If that is available )

Have you tried cleaning/reseating the ribbon cable from the signal board to t-con board. Also possible that there are some dried out caps on the signal board.

Can try but something tells me this one is pretty long shot

Sure on both ends. Needed to remove the signal board. As I stated, all caps there are KY, checked OK.

do those lines in the screen move ?
I ask because I think that has a chi mei m220z screen which I have found to have a lot of issues (both with picture and with bulbs) and the ribbon connection on those SUCKS

It is actually OK for some time and than it starts. Not immediatelly when you turn the display on.

If you mean the blue it is 1280x1024 image on wide screen…

Oops! Missed the part in post #1 where you replaced the signal board caps. Since the problem doesn't start immediately, try accelerating the problem by heating the boards with a hair dryer. I would try heating the signal board first, then the t-con board.

You are missing more of it, I did not replace them.

I will swap the whole display, that will tell me more where to look while being able to do something else in the meantime…

I first thought that is may have been a resized screen but I could still see what looked like part of the picture behind the blue, so I changed my thoughts.
Time for the heatgun or air cans OR as you said, swap the panel.

                        Re: ASUS MW221 image problem

Seems to be signal board, it started almost immediatelly when I swaped panel and resolution to 1680x1050 (I think I left 1440x900 yesterday so it probably took more time because of it).

Reseting to defautls did nothing. The problems occurs after aprox. 10 seconds each time I turn it off and on again. I can also see what looks like „history“, e.g. when I open menu and than close it, I can see some remaints of the window in different position. Is it possible that one DRAM chip (EM636165TS-5) went bad? Or something else?

                          ASUS X712JA problem
                          by AtelierRepa
                          Hello,

I have a problem with the bios, let me explain.

With BIOS 1, the pc takes +- 30 seconds to display the ASUS logo (black screen) and to boot.

I did a clear ME, my black screen problem for 30 seconds at boot is solved, it gives me directly the display and boots quickly.

My problem is that now, once the charger is plugged in and I put a slight load on the processor, it bogs down to 0.39GHz...
The only solution is to unplug the charger to get the cpu back up to speed. But as soon as I plug in the charger, it goes straight back down....

Hi. I have a problem with Asus ROG GA402RK. The keyboard suddenly stopped working along with the kb backlight. I replaced the keyboard and the ITE KBC chip and the problem is still the same. I don't see any passive elements that look damaged. Does anyone have an idea?
