    Samsung Syncmaster 275T disassembling

    Hi,

due to unfortunate events while moving from one apartment to my new apartment, the Panel on my trustworthy Samsung Syncmaster 275T got destroyed. When turned on it looks like in the attached picture.

So i quickly checked ebay for spare parts and found one guy nearby selling the "plus" version which is basically the same as mine just newer version including hdmi. His power supply was blown. He told me that the panel was fine up until he was unable to turn the display on.

I checked Samsung Parts list online and I was right on my guess that the panels are identical.

What im looking for now is a technical reference guide or a samsung service and repair manual how to disassemble the display.

I want to remove the power supply from my Display and swap it with the one i got from ebay.

Before i open them up and breaking the case or anything else. I would prefer some information. As im unable to find any screws. Or maybe a board member can help me out on the proper way of opening the chasis.

If you need pictures please let me know.

    Thanks in advance!

OK. It sounds like you have 2 of them so you can practice a little on the one you don't want to keep. I'm not familiar with your particular model but in 98% of the cases it's always the same method of disassembly.

    1. Remove the stand/base. There's usually some way to access the screws that hold the stand on. Sometimes you have to remove a snapon plastic cover. But there's a way to get to those screws. Take them out and take off the stand.

    2. Seperate the front from the back. There's a fine gap between the front and the back on the plastic. And you need to seperate them. I use retiredcaps method of using 2 butterknives. You slide one into the crack between the plastic back cover and the front. Usually you slide it down into the plastic back cover. You might have to pry a little to seperate and slide it in. Take the other knife and slide along the outside until the inner plastic catches snap loose. Do that all the way around. Usually the back cover will be the part you remove. Check for wires, or something attached to the back cover.

It sounds like you have already checked for screws on the back, so you should be good to go. Since you have 2 of them, and one will be discarded. You can figure it out with the bad one first.

      Thanks alot Lumberjack777 !
Thats exactly the info i have been looking for.

Yes i have two of them. As you guessed right i will try and practice the disassembling on the one which will be discarded.

Just to make one thing clear. The small gap you are refering to is probably this one. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...409_121138.jpg

The one in the upper part of the picture. Between the black and grey part of the casing.

Pictures are way out of focus! What is the board P/N? BN44-XXXXX? It looks like it has bad brown glues problem.

                  Re: Samsung Syncmaster 275T disassembling

Those are bad brown glue that you must remove and inspect the exposed legs of the components to see if they are damaged or not. You can use small flat blade and small wire cutting pliers to carefully remove the glue then use alcohol to soften them up to remove the rest, some tough one will require Acetone. The glue is on the high voltage section.
Did you do any Voltage checking yet?
This will happen if the glues are not removed.

Yes, with bad caps like that, you do have bad power supply board that needs to be repaired with a good set of caps and all the glues removed.
