    Optiquest q91b

Got this monitor for free, it would turn on for about 1 second then the screen would go blank. I opened it up and several 470uf caps were swollen. I replaced all of them. but it still does the same thing. any suggestions.

I have limited electronics experience, but I have managed to repair dozens of monitors just by replacing caps.

I took it apart again and found 1 bad solder joint that I had done. Fixing that did not help. I did notice that when I power it on, I hear a high pitch crackling whining noise just before it turns off. when it turns on and goes off again the time is around 1 to 1.5 seconds.

just lost interest in fixing this one. I get so many monitors If I can't fix em quickly I don't bother.

What you are describing might be due to a small 1uF or similar cap. Sometimes its hard to see if they are bad or not.

If your getting a display for a second or so then nothing along with a squeal and some crackling noises makes me suspect one of the ccfl bulbs is bad. See if you can hear it at one of the 4 corners of the monitor. Another test would be to unplug one of the bulbs and plug in another set outside of the monitor to see if it stays on.

Btw, do you have it hooked up to a source?

Yamaha XP7000 Crackling in left channel
          by xfreakx
          Hi guys,

I have a problem with the power amplifier Yamaha XP700, I hope someone can help or point me in a direction.

The amp started occasionally to crackle in the left channel which in a short time period got more frequent and after a while the crackling occurred instantly on power on.
While checking for loose connections the amp's protection kicked in and turned the amp off. From then the protection turned the amp off in between 1 - 5 seconds after power on.

I switched the mono blocks for a test to make sure the error is in the block itself...

Pioneer RM-07 Active monitors cutting out from time to time
          by BigOof
I have a pair of Pioneer RM-07 monitors that I bought a while ago. When I was testing them I noticed that one speaker would cut out and I thought it was just a bad cable connection. At the price they were being sold for I was willing to take a risk on them. However, 6 months later and the one monitor still has the same issue. Most of the time it works, but there are times that the power LED is on but I get absolutely no sound. I can hear the relay clicking on/off sometimes and then it will/won't work depending on what it feels like. I've tried XLR and RCA inputs with the same issue. There's no...

Here's a video I uploaded to show the problem.

Quality isn't 1080p yet because I just uploaded it. YouTube takes a while to process videos to maximum quality.

I have a multimeter and basically no electrical fixing knowledge.

I came across a post on here describing the same issue if it helps y'all help me. -> https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...500-done-today

Roland KR-3500/4500 Digital Piano. Crackling audio sound on all keys -Fixed
          by i_am_patch
Hi All. I had a Roland KR-3500 Digital Piano (similar to the KR-4500) that exhibited a Crackling audio sound on all keys. After reading somewhere about someone with a similar issue who had replaced all the Electrolytic caps I decided to also go down that route. (Spoiler : It worked !) After some basic troubleshooting I determined that it could be noise feeding thru from the Keyboard scanning since the Demo tunes played back undistorted and the Audio amp / speakers were fine ( Inserted an Audio signal into the rear Audio input). After extracting the main board from the shield, I replaced 7 Capacitors...

Nintendo switch - clicking/crackling sound when pwr on
          by Woxx
Hey there, maybe someone can shine some light here.

I have a Nintendo Switch that doesn't power on. When I press and hold the power button I hear a crackling, fast ticking electric-like sound. Does anyone have a idea of what it could be?

I have disconnected everything that I can. Done some measurements, reading 17,2 Ohm as lowest on the CPU caps.

I would highly appreciate your thoughts.
