Dell E172FPb/173FPb 17" monitor. screen + pwr led blinking

The monitor is a Dell E172FPb/173FPb 17" (has both E172 and E173 on the back...).

The problem is that it doesn't work, when plugged in and turned on it just blinks once every second or so, and the power LED blinks along with the screen. As if it's constantly restarting itself.

The other problem, is that I've searched these forums, and when I find the same monitor, it appears to have a different board...

I'm a newbie to working on monitors, so any help would be appreciated.

I would have uploaded pictures but I guess I can't do that on my first post? "Your submission could not be processed because a security token was missing."

Regardless, I'll get them uploaded some time soon, maybe use another website for them...

Note the instructions and size limits below in my sig file. We want clear focused top down view of all your boards.

Regardless, I'll get them uploaded some time soon, maybe use another website for them...
Please upload the pictures here, not somewhere else.
    --- begin sig file ---

If you are new to this forum, we can help a lot more if you please post clear focused pictures (max resolution 2000x2000 and 2MB) of your boards using the manage attachments button so they are hosted here. Information and picture clarity compositions should look like this post.

We respectfully ask that you make some time and effort to read some of the guides available for basic troubleshooting. After you have read through them, then ask clarification questions or report your findings.

Please do not post inline and offsite as they slow down the loading of pages.

Ah, I see. Max size 2 MB. What's listed in the attachments upload section is incorrect "jpg 3.81 MB 2000 2000"

Hope these are good, had to reduce the quality to make them under 2 MB... lol

Excellent pictures, The classic cause of these symptoms are transistor pairs Q739-740 and Q759-760. Check these for shorts. If any of a pair are shorted replace both. Also resolder the transformer leads and the leads on caps C735 and C755. And check Q781? (between C763 and C794) and it's mate to the left of C751 for shorts.

There's a gent selling repair kits on ebay for your board for a good price. He's sold over 1400 of them, which should tell you something! Also, remember to resolder all the pins of the 4 small yellow inverter transformers.

I have this 173FPb .. originally it would turn on for 2 seconds, and then blank, power LED on.

            I got a similar replacement kit from ebay, replacing all 6 transistors : FU9024N x2, 2SC5707 x4

But now after a few days after replacing them, I get the screen & LED blinking.

edit: well, now the 173FPb is on & working. It only started to flash after I 'woke up' my PC. After being unplugged for a some mins, its working now.

              Hello,

YouTube video of the problem encountered: https://youtube.com/shorts/q7TLNv36LUo

I am a pro and I have a problem that I have never seen despite my 7.5 years of experience on my own and my thousands of repairs, on a customer's Dell G3 15 3500.

On this PC I have already changed the complete palmrest because the keyboard was no longer working properly.

I also changed the screen because the PC fell and the screen was broken.

I changed the battery with a new and original battery.

I also had corrosion/oxidation on the...

Dell 34 inch U3419W Monitor with thin stripes on partial screen
              by ChristianBr01
              Hello everyone,
I have a Dell U3419W Monitor that has some thin stripes on a part of the screen since Tuesday.
This lines cover about a third of the screen and appear for 2 seconds before disappear for another 2 seconds.
This repeats the whole time. I have not opened the case yet cause I had no time, but will try to fix it on this weekend. For me, it looks like a problem on the TCon... Am I right?
Does someone have seen this before?...

AOC U34G3XM, new monitor, black screen with backlight on, possible shortcircuit during dissassembly
              by turmix
Hello, I'm working on a new deskmod pc project and have a problem with my monitor, an AOC U34G3XM, well, I may have bricked it.

The monitor was dismanteled and the separate parts parts integrated in the desk. the screen panel alone is on the upper part, and main board/video board + power board on the back of the desk (not enough place on the cover to fit it)
At first everything was working smoothly, then I decided to change the connexion between the video board and the screen for a longer one. Still working fine

During another reassembly, I made a mistake, and...

              good morning all,

i purchased a used dell e6540 laptop used 10 months ago from a vendor on ebay. intel i-7 processor, 16 gb ddr3 memory, 256 gb ssd., mobo la-9413p (rev 1.0 dated 2014-08-04). i've inflicted no damage on it since purchase but its past is unknown. starting 2 weeks ago it began to fail to boot (initially 9 of 10 boot attempts failed, now 10 of 10 fail). there was no new hardware or software added (i was using as a kodi video server). the post process doesn't complete and booting no longer displays the dell logo screen - screen remains black with no backlight. some other...
