How generic are LCD logic boards?

How standardized are logic boards and their interfaces to an LCD panel?

The LCD panel connectors are probably standard. Is the firmware on a logic board capable of dealing with a few standard sizes of panel, or are they programmed for just one size?

Can the MCU identify a panel's resolution electronically, or is it hard-coded?

Do TN, PVA, and IPS panels have different interfaces due to their panel technology? Or is that internal to the panel and the MCU just sees a standard digital interface?

    Thanks!

i've swapped quite a few panels (19-22") around with no problems so far.
if the panel's voltage and resolution match, there shouldn't be any issues.

a 22" widescreen panel (1680x1050) out of a dead Samsung monitor (won't power on.. controller board issues) works perfectly fine with the innards of a 19" widescreen Acer with the same resolution.. it just won't fit in the case.. (i've tried that before after verifying the panel's supply voltage is the same)

i don't know about the panel types though.
i currently have a 19" 1280x1024 Belinea with a MVA/PVA panel and a 19" 1280x1024 LG with a crappy TN panel.. kinda makes me wanna try some panelswapping now

as for the resolution.. i think it's hard-coded into the LCD controller boards firmware, but i don't really know for sure.

panel spec must be coded in the logic board there is a store on ebay that sell a logic board whit the inverter and they program it for the lcd panel you have you can even buy the programmer to reprogram it yourself. Most lcd use LVDS standard.

These are somewhat generic, panel resolution and voltage is set with jumpers: http://www.lcdparts.net/LCDC.aspx

SAMSUNG UN50TU8000F rebooting, backlight ok. No 12v to panel boards.
          by triplefour
TV flashes backlight then reboots over and over. no image. Client said it used to have image for a bit before rebooting. Got worse over time.

          tcon is built into mainboard.
Only one cable goes to panel boards.
there is a cable from one panel board to the other that links them.
cost cutting measure that results in us having harder time to diagnose.
removing the link to the second panel board allows TV to stay on with stable backlight but no image.
used cut off tape method to mask 1 maybe 2 pins on the side of the cable that goes to that second panel board....

Three 820-01700 32GB Logic Boards Same Issue: Won't Wake From Hibernate
          by ugamazing
I have three identical-spec 820-01700 boards (2.6/32/512), and ALL THREE boards came to us with the same fault, from different sources: The boards don't wake from hibernation with the keyboard or lid, they ONLY wake when you press the power button. I understand this is a very minor issue, but the boards must be fixed!

We will of course begin with the obvious (checking lid signals), but I couldn't help but notice these three boards were all 32GB variants. Has anyone noticed an issue relating to these 32GB boards in particular? I of course don't think it's a RAM issue, but it's bizarre...

Can LED panels be used from different TV's ( or the internals to the panel )?
          by NolesFan
I have a TV, ( example ) Sony XBR-75X80G that the LED panel is cracked, does anyone know if we can take the LED panel from a ( example ) Sony XBR-75X80H and plug it in and it will work? Or if the panel measurements is not exact, can we take the internals of the cracked panel 80G TV and mount into the good panel 80H TV? Thank you

Upgrading a Samsung ue55nu7096u with logic board from an ue55ru7105k -- good idea?
          by ohren
I hope this is the right forum to post in despite not technically being a repair, but still a question of swapping boards.

I thought I'd explore the possibility to upgrade an existing working Samsung ue55nu7096u with the logic board (and power board if needed) of a newer model (ue55ru7105k) of the same size and appearance (and resolution). The reason being I'd like the extra inputs of that board including component in, an extra HDMI port and bluetooth. Its panel is broken so I have no use for the board otherwise.

The models launched in 2018 and 2019 respectively....

          LG OLED55CX Clicking No Power
          by cheebster
Hello, i have this OLED here, as the topic says OLED65CX.

TV shows standby led, when pressed the PSU clicks, then shut down.

Disconnecting the 12V VIN from the T-Con, make the TV boot up, led flashes like normal and it stays on.

          What i've tried so far:

I have a working TV, an OLED55C1. Similar TV... Took all the boards to the C1, 1 by one, and everything works. So basically, all of these boards from the defective CX (PSU, Main, TCON) works either 1 by 1, or together on the working C1.

However, none of the C1 boards work on the CX,...
