    Viewsonic VX2235wm

Hello all, just posting this as a fun story.

My lovely 22inch Viewsonic crapped out a few days ago. Black screen, power light on.
I found this forum via a YouTube vid showing how to repair by replacing caps. Took monitor apart, spent 2 days gobbling up all this lovely info on the forum, learned all about caps, found where to order a set, took pics, reassembled to try the flashlight test. . guess what it works again

The (CapXon) caps all appear fine. There is an odd area of corrosion on the top corner of the screen frame (top right when facing). It's never been wet, looks like that electrical type of corrosion. This tells me there may be an issue with the bulb?

Not posting pics right now, don't want to waste bandwidth, will post for reference if requested, however you may see me again very soon...

    cheers!

If you are new to this forum, we can help a lot more if you please post clear focused pictures (max resolution 2000x2000 and 2MB) of your boards using the manage attachments button so they are hosted here. Information and picture clarity compositions should look like this post.

We respectfully ask that you make some time and effort to read some of the guides available for basic troubleshooting. After you have read through them, then ask clarification questions or report your findings.

Looking for help with a Viewsonic VP230mb where the backlight comes on only momentarily
      by lostone
Hello, I came here after finding some similar questions asked on other monitors and hope someone here can help me get an ancient Viewsonic VP230mp (23" 4:3 LCD) back to working condition.

First a little background, I have a background in computer and electrical engineering, and I'm smart enough to know I know nothing about LCD displays and how they work. For this topic I'm as green as they come.
When the display is turned on the viewsonic logo displays in the uppper left for 2 seconds then the screen goes black, the power LED is green (on) and when a computer is connected...

      Viewsonic VX2235WM-3 problems
      by skelband
      Hi,
I am trying to diagnose an issue with the above monitor.
Initially, I assumed that it was a PSU issue, but I'm not so sure.
      OK, here are the symptoms:

Powering on the monitor, the backlight comes on, but there is no display on the panel. The power light is illuminated Blue.
After about 3 seconds, the backlight goes off and the the power light goes Amber.
I cannot get it to do anything with the buttons with either the blue or amber lights illuminated.

If I plug in a VGA source, then the panel stays on indefinitely, blue light + backlight....

Huawei D15 no power found corrosion damage
      by B2L_Repairs
I got a huawei D15 that came in for no power repair. Device charges , charging led flashedms but doesn't turn on. I found corrosion on an IC (ic name is BDJCY1...I can't find out much info about it online). I removed this ic and two pads are corroded but they can be repaired. To my knowledge inductors never short to ground (i might be wrong and please those that are more knowledgeable than me can correct me). I found few inductors short to ground when my multimeter is in beep mode ,indicating a short in the line of those inductors...but I don't know how to go about to find the shorted component...

      Logitech Z506 with corrosion
      by Traptor
      Hi Guys,
I have a Logitech Z506 with some problem.
The main problem was the front right and subwoofer gave a hard noise.
After the disassemble I found many corrosion on the mainboard as you can see on the pictures.
I removed the corrosions and the noise disappeared but the sound too.

I think some parts is damaged because of the corrosion.
I searched a lot on the internet but I cant find correct schematic for this pcb, so I dont know what is the correct values of the damaged parts.
But I found same good pictures of this board.
